Most cars now a days have timing belts and most import cars have zero toleance engines, which means damage will occur. Phone toyota and simply ask and ask for a quote to replace it then you'll know the costs and if you want to attempt it youself but common rulle is 60-100,000 miles so you make the call.

Timing belt for a 2005 Toyota Corolla type S

Well you are in luck if that is your concern. The '05 Toyota Corolla has a chain instead of a belt. The recommended mileage I am not sure of but it will be listed in the owners manual. Most of the timing belts are recommended at no later than 90, 000 miles. The timing chains I have done I did because of a chain guide issue. They do get some slack in them but they aren't going to cause you to be broken down on the road with engine problems like a belt can.
i hope this helps, please remeber to rate this fix.
