Adjusting my slack ajusters on a peterbuilt378

using a multi fluted socket that fits the bolt , press it on the bolt so that the lock ring around the bolt is pushed down and turn to adjust
good practice to have the wheel off the ground and turning so that the linings can be heard when about to touch the drum
best if you replace the slack adjust with a later version as for the last 20 years , slack adjusters are self adjusting so that indicates that the self adjusting action has siezed and should be replace anyway

Process for changing 2001 Chevrolet Suburban surpentine belt

See diagram posted on radiator housing or download picture from internet site.

Use wrench, or hand, to pull/push slack adjuster away from old belt.
Place new belt around all pulleys except the slack adjuster
Pull slack adjuster to slack position and place belt onto it.

Mine is so easy to move that I can move it w/o any tools just with my hand.

1997 venture leaking coolant, can,t tell where it is leaking, sems to be on the back of engine somewhere.

You may be lucky and it just the hose clamp that needs to be replaced at your heater core on the firewall. Might as well replace the heater hose if it is the clamp that has failed. There are two hoses from the firewall behind the engine, the other places that coolant would leak from are the frost plugs and at worst the intake gasket failed. Keep me posted and have my fingers crossed it's just a simple fix like a leak from the heater hose. Good luck

Where do I loosen my belt that is runs A/C on 2000 Toyota Sienna?

One of those "wheels" or TENSIONER PULLYS on your vehicle is the tensioner for the a/c compressor. You will need to look at it and see if there is an adjustment bolt behind pully. If there is, loosen center pully nut, then run adjustment bolt out to slack out the belt. Replace belt and reverse prosedure. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN BELT,as you can damage pullys and or belt. Tighten to factory specs. Rule of thumb is pulling the belt out and check for slack. No more/less than one inch slack.

Water/coolent leaking from behind the timing cover

Water pump is on the left side of the timing belt in the cover and spins on an O-ring to adjust the belt. Their is a coolant pipe to the the thermostat housing behind the timing covers backing plate also. Be sure to replace the timing belt with the tensioner/ oil seals along with the water pump. Remove the timing covers back plate and you will find two bolt to the pipe as mentioned. It has a large o-ring behind it. Have fun with this one. From: Ronnie Wrench

Bmw318 1998 timing chain

you have to loosen the adjuster first that takes the slack out of the chain. you then have to remove bothe the cam sprocket and the crank sprocket at the same time . you do this by removing the index bolt and the remainder of bolts. this should do the trick

Leaking onto boot

Some cars have an adjustment that can be made to the hatch to make it a tighter seal. You could also try new seals. Seals tend to shrink with age.
