If the cable is cut can you get under the car and remove the lower splash shield and possibly reach up in fromt of the rediator/condensor and find the cable. I would cut it there and feed it out the grille then strip the outer coating and grab the metal wire inside and pull. This should release the hood. good luck

1999 BMW 528i interior hood release cable missing how do I open hood

The hood catch is so well inclosed, you won't get the hood open manually. No tricks here. There has to be a release inside the car. If the handle is just missing, and you can get to the release cable, just pull it with a pair of pliers.

How do I open my hood for my 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage? I have a broken hood release. Thanks!

Go under the dash and cut back the cover over the inner steel core that is the release cable, with a pair of locking pliers pull on that one core to release the hood.

Bonnet cable brook on bmw 3 series

Okay, so the hood latch cable on your BMW 3 series has broken. Normally the cable itself will snap and a you can purchase a new cable that can be threaded through the casing and reconnected to the hood latch. You will need to get the hood open, so hopefully there will be some access to the hood latch mechanism from underneath the front of the vehicle.

you may be able to access the latch from underneath the vehicle with a long screwdriver, or needle nose pliers.

You would have to acess the hood latch from underneath the car up through the grill area. Also if the cable broke off flush, you can cut back the liner and use pliers on the exposed cable. A new cable would come with the liner and all anyway.
