My 2001 xterra started making a weird sound between 20 and 35 mph. It sounds like there is a leak in some pressure system.

Common Car Noises and Their Likely Causes Noise More Details Likely Cause Fixing It Clicking noise while turning Starts faint, gradually becomes more noticeable until very loud Failed outer CV joint (constant velocity joint) due to torn boot (most likely) or old age Replace either the whole axle assembly (recommended) or the outer CV joint Water pump noises Difficult to diagnose because of water pump's location Noise usually caused by damage to the bearings in failed water pump Only cure is replacing it. If possible do it at the same time as a timing belt replacement to cut down on labor costs Squeak or squeal from an engine belt Loud, high-pitched squeak or squeal Belts either need adjustment or replacing If belts only squeak when damp, they probably just need adjustment. If they squeak constantly, they probably need to be replaced Exhaust heat shield noises Rattle that you hear when car is idling Damaged heat shield Replace heat shield

Does squeaking coming from automoble water pump indicate water pump bearing is bad

If you take the belt off and there is no noticeable in/out, up/down, or side to side movement of pulley and there is no noise when rotating, a new belt may be all you need. Make sure you check ALL of the other belt driven components including idler pulleys and belt tensioner pulley. A worn tensioner can squeak also.

How does water pump souns when it is going out

Depending on the car, it does not always make a sound. It can squeak, but if you put a light right where the pump is you might see it weeping water out the bottom of the pulley area if you can see the pump pulley.

Is your car overheating? If not, and you hear a squeaking, it could be the belt. If your a DYI'er you can spray some belt dressing on the belt. iF it stops, then it is not your pump.

Water leaking from front of my 94 thunderbird and making a squeaking sound

Your water pump is probably bad. can you see if the water is coming out of the radiator or a hose or is it from the engine?

Squeak is annoying the only parts not change yet is h2o pump ac bearing and p/s bearings dont know what to do

Remove the belt and turn the water pump, A/C clutch and power steering by hand in the direction they normally rotate. You may be able to feel a bad bearing. Does the sound change when you turn on the A/C or Defrost? That would point to the A/C clutch.

I assume you have already tried a new belt, and have cleaned all the pulleys to make sure there isn't something on them causing the belt to slip (then squeak when it catches again).

Car ran hot twice and is making a squeaking sound

Not much info to go on, but: Most squeaking is from 3 sources. 1.) Water Pump Bearing. Get some water pump lubricant in there quick to avoid ruining that bearing. (about $3.00) 2.) Idler Belt Tensioner You may be able to lube the back side of this with WD-40, but too much is bad for the serpentine belt. 3.) Power Steering Pump, does not sound like you problem.
