As for choking make sure your air filter is not soaked in water, as for your clutch dont see ya water would affect it unless you picked something up in the puddle that got logged in the linkag.

Engine cuts out during heavy rains. This started happening a couple months ago during a heavy rain. As soon as the rain lets up (within mile or two) the engine settles down. Light to moderate rain does not...

If the check engine light is on have it scanned at Auto Zone to pin point the problem. If the check engine came on then went off it stored the code in the computer you can still pull it up.

After driving for 15 to 20 minutes car shuits off, wont start but turns over. after about 10 minutes it starts again.

You did not give enough information to say much...except...if it were a Ford Pinto then I know it is a bad switch in the passenger side seat. I had one with the problem and for a while had to drive around with a heavy weight on the seat to make it think someone was there until I replaced the switch sensor.

Along the same lines...if it is a Ford Mustang this kind of problem can occur if it is raining or if you go through puddles...I had one once that died everytime it rained...had it towed many times and mechanics foundnothing wrong. Finally I solved the prlblem by noticing that the ignition coil was mounted on the drivers side fender well in the engine compartment and that there was an 1/8" diameter stamped out hole in the fender sheet metal under the place where the ignition coil was mounted. You could not see the hole until you removed the coil. I plugged the tiny hole and never had a problem ever again no matter how much water I went through...the water was shorting the coil out but was fine when things dried out.

CTS-V: Drive shaft "whip" or bad vibration in heavy rain.

Sorry I don't have a solution, just adding that you're not alone...

I just bought my '05 CTS-V on 8/31/09 and today (9/4/09) was the first time I've driven it in the rain. When I hit hard rain it sounded as if the tranny or rearend was going to fall off. I thought I had thrown an axle being or jacked up the tranny/rearend gears or something. The sound quieted down as I left the heavy stuff and then totally disappeared when I got to a dry area. One person said it was probably water hitting the undercarriage or wheel-well, but this was more than that. This sound was louder tan that and is not normal splashing water. If this noise was common, there'd be a heck of a lot more CTS owner complaining about it. I've never heard such a noise in any car I've ever been in when driving in the rain. I'd love to know what it was. I'm not even sure how to show or explain the problem to the dealership in order to get it fixed

Shuts off will driving, especially if I hit a bumpy road.

check the wires to the fuel pump if they have rubbed against something and the insulation wore through hitting bumps or rain could cause it to short and kick the relay and resets again and will start

U can go to any autozone, kragen or other chain auto parts stores and they will run the trouble code test for free, let me know what they find if anything, this also may be a fuel pressure problem

2000 Volkswagen Polo runs rough and dies in wet weather and rain

Girlfriend's 99 Polo had same issue. In fact it recurred yesterday! Anyway, am not expert, but it seems to be due to deposits building up inside distributor cap area and then getting damp in wet conditions, causing shorting of ignition 'signals'. Found solution is to clean inside cap every 6 to 12 months with a cloth and IPA (or water if you're stuck - just make sure to dry it properly!) and the problem goes away. Silly thing about her Polo is that there's no decent splashguard to protect the engine area from splashes from puddles etc. I've lost all respect for VW coz of the amount of silly things that have gone wrong with her car...! Hope this helps - sounds to me like it's exactly the same problem.
