Question about 2006 Kia Sorento

1 Answer

I have a 2005 Sorento and have had no luck with the dealership in identifying a studdering in the front end when I make tight turns. It feels like the front tires are slipping. We have replaced the clutch plates and front and rear bushings, the vibration is still there! I can't afford to keep "parting it out"!

I had new brakes installed on my 2005 Kia Sorento and now the brake pedal seems softer. I have to push it almost to the floor to brake.

Sounds like the rear brakes are not adjusted - may not be tight enough.
You could also have air in the lines.

I have a 2005 KIA Sorento with a Battery problem. The Battery dies & has a dead short after a few months. The auto was purchased NEW with a GPS tracking system installed a dealer from Southwest...

If an ammeter is connected between the negative cable and the negative terminal of the battery with the negative cable end disconnected to do so, then the amp draw should be less than .2 Amps.

If the ammeter is the inductive type that has a probe that goes around the negative battery cable, while the negative battery cable is connected, and the positive is connected, the draw should also be less than .2 Amps.

If the draw is .8 Amps, for example, then that's too high and can cause a dead battery in a few months.

Good luck on this repair.

Would bad cv joints make the front end shake at 60 mph

Not likely, this kind of problem is almost always caused by wheels that are out of balance. Have the front wheels rebalanced at any tire shop.

Car shudders at low speed when turning

This sounds like there is something worn in the steering. If it is a rack & Pinion steering the rack could be worn out. It could also be the CV joints to the front hubs. Regardless it does not sound safe. Take it to an independent mechanic, NOT THE DEALER, and have it inspected. There typically is not charge to inspect/identify the problem.

Steering concern when making slow turns or backing out of garage

Make sure that the coupling shaft from the column to the rack is tight at both ends. There is a pinch bolt on the ends. If they are tight try holding the shaft while turning. You will probably feel the clunking noise. If so replace the shaft.
