It is not uncommon for a replacement pump to be bad. I repalced a pump in my daughter's car three times before getting one that worked properly. You may have a bad one and need to return it .

Jimmy starts but doesn't stay running

Could be a fuel starvation problem. Check the fuel pressure - if it drops below 50 psi, the engine will stop. If that is the case, the fuel regulator is probably faulty or not installed correctly (leaking). Another check would be for an intermittent in the fuel pump connector or a faulty fuse/relay as well.

Car keeps shutting off while driving. We have changed fuel filter twice worked good for a couple of days and then started again. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Fuel filter is the best place to start but sometimes the fuel pump can cut out intermittently as well and it is also possible that your injectors are gummed up. Perhaps a higher grade of fuel might make a difference or fuel injector cleaner once a month when you fill your tank might help if it is an injector issue.
I am not certain how to tell if the fuel pump is intermittently cutting out other than eliminating other reasonable possibilities. I had that happen to me and like you I changed the fuel filter and ran injector cleaner through my tank and still had the problem. I dropped the tank and replaced the pump and it ran great afterward.

Fuel pump, fuel pressure will read within specs until the pump gets hot, and sometimes this shows up intermittently, I discovered this with my Moms 96 Buick Regal, it was such an intermittent symptom / problem that I couldn't find the problem for about 6 weeks of troubleshooting, but I stumbled on the fuel pump not holding pressure(even after testing many times) then that one time I caught it, and replaced it and that fixed the problem.
Good Luck !

Intermittent starting problem and now it will not start.I cannot hear fuel pump. ive been told to replace main fuel relay. I replaced ignition switch a year ago.

Your starting problem may be a clogged filter or a bad fuel pump. You are not having problems with the engine cranking I assume.
