Question about 1995 Chevrolet Camaro

Open Question

I have a 1995 camaro that keeps spitting and sputtering. When the problem first started I was going up a slight incline and I was low on fuel when the car back fired and started running rough. When I try to start the car I can smell fuel really strong. When I got it in the garage I took the spark the plugs and they were fouled out. I changed them and the wires.I changed the optispark and replaced the fuel filter. The car ran okay but still had a miss to it. After driving the car a couple of miles the car started again. I then started trouble shooting and changed the mass air flow sensor and even tried a different computer. When I changed just the mass air flow sensor still using my computer and the car rean really really good. I drove it until I used over a 1/2 a tank of gas. The next day I drove it it started missing and then got worse and worse. The car blows out smoke and I can smell a strong smell of fuel. I am just tired of messing with it and no one can tell me whats wrong with it. If anyone knows of this problem or has had this problem please hel cause I am ready to set this thing on fire to get rid of the problem but I do love the car.

SOURCE: car

If this is the same lincoln, read the first and then consider a tune up. When plugs were they create a higher spark demand. The higher spark demand sometimes isn't met and the plug fails to fire or the high voltage spark cross fires to the nearest ground or other wires. At night you can see the wires arcing in the engine compartment. It's pretty to watch but a pain in the ****. Good luck

What would cause the van to start spitting sputtering misfire when going up hill or encline

Could be clogged fuel injectors. I had a problem similar to this. Car ran okay on flat areas but would spit and sputter going up inclines. I took mine to an oil change place and they ran a cleaner through the system. This fixed the problem and I put an injector cleaner in with every 3rd tank of gas to keep this from happening again.

Won't back up!

well slipping in reverse would be tranny...;but by saying the engine spits,,,sputters ,,,stalls,,,,sounds like engine not enough power to drive it in reverse...i'm guessing forward no problems...first thing comes to mind is in reverse engine moves on motor mounts as you give it gas..could be wiring harness rubbing on block causing short condition..when in forward engine moves opisite direction...while idling in park, shake wiring harness all over different spots see if you can simulate the condition.....are there any engine codes....also does it have a problem in reverse on a flat surface... or only on a incline....if only on an incline check fuel pressure while in reverse on incline.. see if loosing pressure for some reason..on incline fuel goes to lowest part of tank...

1995 Jeep grand cherokee is missing while running. When it is under a heavy load (driving fast) it runs fine. When idleing and slow driving it spits and sputters.

I have the same problem on my 95 grand cherokee laredo. Sometimes it starts out fine and after about 10 miles it starts spitting and sputtering. Then after a while it seems to clean out and run fine again for a little while. Then other times it starts out spitting and sputtering at the begining. I changed the fuel filter and that was not it. It is a 4.0L 6cyc. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
