There is a bearing at the drive shaft ,has a rubber bushing the bushing usually fails then the driveshaft loses it's alignment then
starts to vibrate . that could be your vibration.

2005 dodge dakota driveshaft vibrations, only has 58,000 miles. Dealer says needs driveshaft assembly and is not warranty under 7 year/ 70,000 miles warranty.

You most likely need a 15 dollar ujoint. The dealer will sell you the whole unit to make a better return. Even so a driveshaft can be balanced for about $100 bucks if it were out of balance but if you did not loose a weight or bend it then it shoulds be just fine. Go to an independant shop. You will be treated better and only the parts needed will be sold to you.

Rough riding dakota

I would think, most likely the shocks are bad. The springs could be weak, but I would think it would sit a bit low. I'd check the stabilizer links. The vibration could be a bad universal joint in the driveshaft. I'd replace the shocks first.

2000 Dodge Dakota vibration while driving

sound like the u-joints in the driveshaft. Lay under the truck and where the u-joints are try moving the driveshaft up and down. If it moves then the u-joints are bed. This will cause a tremendous vibration under a load and the faster it spins it will smooth out.

MY TRUCK SHAKES UNDER ENGINE LOAD. THE MOTOR MOUNTS ARE GOOD. I WAS WONDERING IF I NEEDED A CARRRIER BEARING. ITS A 1980 FORD F100 WITH THE 351 WINDSOR AND 3 SPEED AUTO. AND WHAT SIZE DO I NEED THE 35MM OR...

Check the driveshaft u-joints also. They will cause a solid vibration when under acceleration load and go away when coasting. As for that carrier beariing, its best to lefdt a shop that balances driveshafts handle that so thatthey can rebalnce the shaft after the repairs are done.

Loud vibration on 2005 jeep liberty when under load.

Sounds a lot like a wheel balance problem, Does vibration go away over 55? In checking driveshaft joints...If you looked at them with the vehicle in park with the wheels on the ground, the shaft is "loaded" and cannot be correctly checked. To do this properly, vehicle should be in neutral with both rear wheels off the ground. Sometimes a joint can appear to be tight but still be bad. Check for traces of powdered rust around the rubber boots right where the end caps meet the cross on the inside. Any rust there indicates lack of grease and the likelyhood that the joint is frozen.
Check both balance and joints. Good luck.
