Items to check: ignition switch (must supply B+ to relay), fuel pump relay( must get B+ from ign switch and send it to pump) pump. I would by pass the relay and ign switch and run a set of jumper wires to pump from battery to see if it works . If it runs your culprit is the relay ignition switch or the circuit.

Chevy uplander 2006 hesitation and loss of power

Check air filter, valve on hose leading to engine, and electrical connection on air intake hose.... vacuum in gas tank loosen gas cap and reseal...bad gas can do this to fill with known good gas and run a tank...spark plugs need replacing @ 100,000 Ks or 60,000 Ms the manual recommends 100,000 but many mechanics have reported that the lower mileage is the actual.....

Can you explain how the gas cap can cause a service engine light to come on in a 2006 chevy uplander with a 3.5L engine.

The gas tank and emissions are under vaccum and a loose/bad seal or missing gas cap allows the vacuum to leak out when the pcm detects irregular vacuum it will turn the service engine light on.

2005 uplander engine light comes on then we play with the gas tank lid it goes off then comes back on after abit

I had the same problem AND I couldn't start the engine after getting gas without playing with the gas cap, so I replaced the gas cap with an aftermarket cap and have not had problems since.

My chevy uplander 2007 ran out of gas. I have

Since the Uplanders have the long (front to back) skinny gas tank, with the outlet to the rear; if you run out of gas with the front/nose inclined lower than the rear, then it can take upwards of 5 to 8 gallons to get it started again. It was written up in a GM TSB. Two gallons won't start it. When the gage reads less than 1/2, it's not a good idea to park with the front lower than the rear...unless you carry a full 5 gal. refill. Thank you GM engineering.

Chevy uplander ran out of gas and now it won't start

I had a similar issue with my uplander. They don't have a reset switch on the pump but if the vehicle is CLOSE to running out of gas and you happen to park on a grade where the front of the vehicle is pointing down then you may have trouble starting the vehicle until it level's out.

All I did was apply some gas pedal while starting and it started. Then I got to a gas station ASAP. If you're right out of gas you may want to add some to the tank and let the vehicle sit in the ignition on position without starting it for a minute or two to get some fuel back in the lines before starting it.
