You mean 50 MPH? could be tires noisy or a rear wheel bearing.

Bring in the car to a PROFESSIONAL shop. Mention your problem & ask about a wheel balance, alignment & make your problem clear before any work is done. Mention bearings etc. Ive dealt w millions of csrs at my own private shop & that would be your best approach. NO JIFFY LUBE TYPE SHOP

What would cause a loud roaring in the back seat of my 2001 Monte Carlo as I am driving?

That roaring noise should be a wheel bearing. Jack up the rear wheels and spin the tires by hand. You can hear a grinding noise if the noise inside the car is as load as you state.. The only other noise that will be like that is the differental gears inside the drive axle

How far can I drive on a spare tire? 1996 Mazda Protege?

Drive it under 45 miles per hour. The dough nut spare is designed to just get safely to a place to repair or replace the original tire. So as far as the question of how far can I drive the spare? As little as possible.

My right rear brakes squeak due to the hand brake

Getting the levers loose is a start but the shoes may have gotten hot and "glazed". Have him replace the shoes, use a good quality name brand and not the cheapest you can find shoes, and it should be OK.

How do you change rear drum brakes for a 1996 mazda protege? I cannot remove rear drum brakes.

If the rear drums are seized you will need to tap on the sides with a hammer while rotating the drum, this will loosen the hardware inside and allow it to come off.

If it is the shoes that will not come off, you need to find the spring and retainer that hold them on and disconnect them.

Grinding noise in front end

Hi
Had the exact same problem, on a used 2003 Protege ES with 82,000 miles that I purchased.
Started with the loud "road noise" I thought well maybe thats just the sound that it makes.
And then noticed that it varies when turning.
This will continue to get worse and then your abs light will come on when it gets bad enough to trigger the sensor..
It turned out to be a bad wheel bearing.
Take it to a shop and have an experienced mechanic check it out. Its repairable.
