Car will not start. Sounds like fuel is not

Car stopped while driving and now will not start. It is cranking but not turning over. Sounds like fuel is not getting to where it needs to go. I checked all the fuses and all of them were good.

Do you hear the fuel tank hum when you turn the key foward? if it does it is not the fuel tank, it could be your ignition module or coil pack/distrubuter or your ignition switch. for futher help please call 419 689 1114 my name is robert and i will be happy to assist you.

sounds like a bad fuel pump....get some parts cleaner spray and have a friend spray it into the air horn while you crank the eng if it starts for a second or two while he continues to spray then your fuel pump is bad you need to replace it...or if you dont want to try that bang on the fuel tank under neath the car with a rubber hammer hard while someone trys to start the car ...block your wheels just in case

06 equinox eng cut out when warm does not crank over untill cool

Start with the fuel pump. When you get into your car turn the ignition key to the on position but do not start your car.Listen for the fuel
Pump to engage, you will hear a low whine. If you hear the pump engage, that doesn't rule that the fuel pump is fine.It sounds like the pump though.

2000 mercury grand marquis 4.6 Intermittent problem. 35,000. miles. Problem engine died several times wile driving. Also after car is parked from a drive will not start. Found that the fuel pump is not...

I'd have to test when problem is ongoing. When you first turn on key, no crank, you should hear the pump run for a few seconds then stop. For initial prime, the computer doesn't need rpm signal. Engine cranking, the computer needs to see rpm signal or it won't ground the fuel pump relay. W/o rpm signal, no spark at the plugs and no fuel injector pulse. I know your talking about fuel, but, when problem is ongoing, check spark and fuel injector pulse, engine cranking.
Intermittent problems are a pain, have to test when problem is ongoing.

I was driving and the car cut off. It won't start but it cranks and won't turn over.It is a 1995 Olds Cutlass Ciera SL, 6 Cylinder.

your terminology is wrong.if it cranks its turning over what you mean is it won`t start(fire up) as you said at the beginning.anyways it sounds like you could have a fuel pump problem that stop working.this happens alot.you should check for spark at the plugs to make sure its not an ignition problem.did you notice a check engine light on when it was running.if so there will be a code in the ecm and may be the cause of your problem.

I have a 99 olds alero. I can drive awhile park the car try to start it and it won't crank. Newer battery and alternator. Mechanic is thinking manifold sensor. plz help

IF CAR TURN OVER NOT CRANKING AFTER A SHORT DRIVE WHEN ENGINE HOT.DIRTY CLOGGED FUEL INJECTORS FLOODING ENGINE OUT.CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS.FILL GAS TANK UP.PUT A CAN OF SEAFOAM IN FUEL TANK.DRIVE CAR AROUND TO HELP FLUSH OUT CARBON ON THE INJECTORS SEATS TO STOP GAS DRIPPING CAUSING FLOODING.IF CAR WONT TURN OVER.BAD BATTERY CABLES OR STARTER.SCAN IT FOR THEFT SECURITY PROBLEMS. IF STARTER TURNS OVER NO CRANK ENGINE FLOODING DUE TO DIRTY FUEL INJECTORS.

2004 mazda wont start, blew a front tire and had to be put on rollback. Sat all nite, and now wont start. will crank and can smell fuel.

flooded engine common problem remove all plugs and fuel pump fuse. get fuel out of engine do not istall fuel pump fuse re install all plugs I suggest a good charger be used as system can kill batt very quick run to wires from fuel pump fuse into seating area start cranking the engine over wires not touching once compression sounds alright touch wires to geather (may have to repeat these deflooding wire touching procedure many times) once started do not turn off car till normal operating temp . Once hot turn car off remove wires and re install fuel pump fuse .With RX-8 u cannot just start and stop car right away as in washing car as it can produce this same condition ALWAYS let car warm up before turning off.
