Can you please tell me where the PCV valve is located on a 2006 mercury montego? Thanks

go to a parts store website and find the part, there will be a picture. now bearing in mind that the small top of it connects into a vacuum hose and the big **** end of it plugs into a gromment on a valve cover, go and look closely at your valve cover(s). it will be in one of them. if the car is so old that it could be bad, buy a new grommet and vacuum hose at the parts store where you buy the PCV valve and replace them too. you will need a sharp small blade and needle nose pliers to get the old grommet out, do not just shove it down inside the valve cover.

I need to replace my pcv valve

on almost all 4.6s the pcv is on the passenger valve cover. it is usually black and has a hose going to it. the hose is about 1/2" or more in diameter. just pull out of cover and pull off hose to replace. why do you want to replace?

You didn't say whether your engine is a 4.0L v6 or a 4.6L v8 but if you have an excessive amount of air blowing back into air box and vehicle is running good otherwise you may have a stuck open PCV valve causing it to pull to much vapors from engine crankcase.
If it is a 4.6L it will be located in the valve cover itself.
If it is the 4.0L locate the hose coming off of the back of the upper intake and it will be at the end of this hose. This one you twist CC to remove.

if the engine is a 4.6L the pcv will be on top and in middle of pass side valve cover.pull to remove.
if the engine is a 4.0L the pcv is located at the rear(firewall) of drivers side valve cover.this pcv has lock tabs holding it in,turn then pull to remove, the lock tabs are part of the valve cover so take care when removing not to harm tabs.
