2002 Nissan Frontier. Vacuum problem

2002 Nissan Frontier. Diagnostic tool says I have a vacuum problem.
I opened hood and found shredded rubber hoses. Not sure where they were connected other than windshield washer. Would ignition problem and windshield washer hoses be related?

Jjgabrovic,

The windshield washer hoses have nothing to do with any electical componenents on the car. You simply won't get water to the windshield.

I suggest locating, and purchasing if necessary a repair manual for this truck. These newer engines have so many wires, and hoses and can be hard to trace.

All vaccum lines start from the engine area, tranny area, and lead to the firewall (back) and other compenants.

Start looking at different compenants that have small rubber hoses and try to trace them as far as you can. Search top and bottom, front and back, side to side. These hoses are sometimes linked with others by T's, and V's and such as vacuum operates several different components at once from one source.

I highly suggest getting a repair manual; CHILTON is the best, as it is more details and descriptive, and provides clear pictures to show particular components and such.

Please, let me know if you need any further assistance with this matter.

Cordially,

Where does the vacuum for the transmission go on a 2002 frontier?

tHE VACUUM hose from transmission should be connected to the engine intake manifold. It is ussually connected right after the throtle. Thats where your "hard line", or tube, should be connected.
With the engine running, disconnect the hose from the tube, or at the transmissio, and feel if you have vacuum. the vacuum should vary with engine speed. If you have vacuum at the hose, then your problem is elsewhere.

2002 altima idling too high check engine light on

The first and easiest thing you should do or have someone do, is check under the hood for a vacuum leak, possibly coming from a cracked or broken hose. Check and inspect all rubber hoses, including the large ribbed hose running to the throttle body (Engine air intake from the air filter box). You can hear a leak if it is loud enough and will sound like a hiss. Your engine is idling high because of a vacuum leak.

2002 NISSAN FRONTIER

sounds like a problem in the egr valve or the porting through the egr valve or maybe a vaccuum line that has something to do with monitoring it. make sure there are no vacuum lines near it that are leaking and is there a difference in the idle that you may notice.
