SOURCE: hi i have a 1995 ldv minibus and have put the

Hi:
One thing that usually happens when a battery is installed backwards, or a dead car is jumpstarted backwards is that either a main fuse blows or a fuseable link blows. These are not located in the same place as the fusebox under the dash, but usually in the engine compartment area. since your car bump starts when towed, you should look for something in the start circuit, and that would be suspect as the starter has a positive wire that runs right to it. If you can';t locate any of the main fuses, you are going to need wiring diagrams to help locate them on your car, but at least you have something to try to look for first.

Help needed have a Ldv Maxus, put a new plastic grommet into clutch pedal today as the old one broke, now having trouble getting it into gear unless I pump the pedal Any Idears please.

Sounds like there is now air in the system. If there is a bleed nipple on the slave cylinder, bleed the clutch with new fluid. If not, it is a sealed system and both the master and slave must be replaced as a pair and ensure you follow the instructions otherwise you will get air in the system again.

I put a slave cylinder in my 97 mazda but the clutch will still not disengage but it moves the fingers on the clutch

Clutch disk could be in backwards.
Slave cylinder may have an adjustment that needs to be extended.
Pilot bearing could be bad and keeps the pilot shaft spinning. (simulates clutch not disengaging)
Pivot pin of the throw out arm could be worn down.

Clutch wont engage after new install

Maybe the clutch master cylinder is not building hydraulic pressure? The internal seals in it may not be holding. Watch the slave cylinder push the clutch lever while someone presses the clutch pedal. If travel is not enough and was bled properly, you may need a new master cylinder.

My clutch pedal has no pressure??

I hate to say this some clutch plates you can not tell the difference from the flywheel side so it will go on backwards ,sounds crazy, but I have seen people put them on backwards all the time and that is what it sounds like considering you have done enough for it to work,FLYWHEEL SIDE XXXXXX

Clutch problem...?

Hi Amiralred, I believe the problem is to be found with the clutch plate and most likely to do with a defective center boss. When it is removed I believe you will find that one or more of the torque absorption spring has broken and possibly the center boss. A good idea with clutch plates, is to use original replacement parts if possible. Regards John
