Heater core is always in front of blower motor under dash panel, passager side. you'll se the hose connections on the firewall engine compartment same side.

If your heater core is hooked up (feel the hoses, should be hot when motor is hot) and does not have a leak in the cabin's passanger side, then your problem lays somewhere else.

Your heater core is in your dash, and yes, its a pain to get to. My dad and I did my grandma's in the same minivan, and we ended up taking out the front seat just to give us extra work room. Usually if your heater core is bad, you will have a big wetspot in the passenger side floor board. The only thing that really can go wrong with a heater core is it leaks, thus the wet spot.

It can be amessy job. The core has to be drained first by disconnecting the hoses at the firewall. You will most likely to remove the glove box and trim around the blower. It will involve alot of working from the ground under the lower dash i.f youre handy and can work without being messy it can be done. One note of advice if you spill coolant into your floorboards and it gets into the sound deadener pads the smell will be there a long long time it really stinks.

Could the thermostat cause the heater to only blow cold air even though the motor runs normal temp on a 2003 dodge caravan

1st of all, you need to check your anti-freeze level. If its not full, the coolant cannot/will not flow throughout your heater core which the coolant flow through to heat your vehicle. If it is indeed up to the proper level? Than, yes I would look into the thremostat. It may not be opening up.

There is no heat in the rear, im thinking its a problem with the back heating core. I have a Dodge Caravan 2001. Whats wrong and how can i fix it?

There should be a vacuum control switch in the heater line going to the heater core that may not be working.
it shuts the water off to the heater core and when heater is turned on the vacuum switch opens the door inside of switch to allow the water to go to the heater core.

How to remove old heater core

The heater core is at the passenger side attached to inside fire wall. The 2 hoses need to taken off (after the anti-freeze is drained) and the control line for the heater door. Tere shoud be 4 bolts holding the core in place. (the carpet need to removed or pulled back in the passenger side) - It's atight and messy job - Good luck

valve and coolant constantly crculate in heater core . use the temperature contorol on instrument panel if you notice no change in heat your blend door in heater box is not moving . and as 240cpa mentioned make sure the t stat is not stuck open.
