Check the shift linkage insure it is hooked up and all aspects are tight. If the column lever move dose it move the linkage below.

Have you looked at fuel pump and fuel filter? Turn key to first position and have someone near fuel tank. They should hear the pump cycle.

Sounds like a vacuum leak probably at the modulator valve on or close to the transmission.

Transmission slips badly


There is a pressure boost valve in the pump of the transmission that wares out that can be replace for $30.00-parts, labor-? It can be done with out removing the transmission from the car. And you can have them Check the TV cable other then that maybe a rebuild.

the oil pump is inside the engine,u must remove the oil pan to access it for replacement

It is in your gas tank. I beleive your fuel pump and sending unit are separate units. I would advise you change the sending unit as well.

1993 Suburban 4 speed automatic transmission shifts hard front 1st to second. Transmission is 3 years old, 15,000 miles. It is a factory rebuilt.


That should be the L60-4 truck version
Have the sedan version, 93 Caprice.
That was the first year of the new electronic shifting transmission.
Especialy when cold she will shift hard, but it's normal.
But that depends on what you call normal.
I have gotten used to it over the last 17 years.
