99 Dodge Durango. 2nd Row seating, i have the seats that you can fold over once, or fold and tip forward. i have the one seat on the passenger side folded over, but it will not latch back up. its just the back rest part that wont stay in place, the part that latches into the floor of the vehicle is fine. How do I fix it?

A little plastic bumper, located on a metal tab on the inside of the bottom seat cushions breaks off. It is supposed to hit the seat back release and allow the back to fold down when you push the bottom cusion in all the way. I finally just bent the metal tab up so it would hit the release and that fixed it. (Look for the broken palstic pieces under the seat cusion area as an indication) The dealer replaced the plastic part several times... a waste of time.

i have a 2003 tahoe and you have to pull the bottom up to a certain point and then the back of the seat will unlock and fold down. it took me forever to finally figure that out. good luck.

THE SEAT RELEASES ARE IN THE TRUNK IN THE AREA WHERE THE SPEAKERS ARE NEAR THE EDGE OF THE TRUNK OPENING.

I have had this problem, and I am having it again. The problem is if a little trash gets under the bar in the floor, it will keep the mechanism from locking completely. I had tried everything. The only solution so far is the rock back and forth. Real pain. I am trying to find a secret release.

I used a broom. Get in the back row and jam the broom handle under the 2nd row seat. Apply upward leverage and then fold the back rest of the 2nd row seat forwards. This worked first shot for me.
