Middle row seat, broken latch

99 Dodge Durango. 2nd Row seating, i have the seats that you can fold over once, or fold and tip forward. i have the one seat on the passenger side folded over, but it will not latch back up. its just the back rest part that wont stay in place, the part that latches into the floor of the vehicle is fine. How do I fix it?

SOURCE: third row seats

A little plastic bumper, located on a metal tab on the inside of the bottom seat cushions breaks off. It is supposed to hit the seat back release and allow the back to fold down when you push the bottom cusion in all the way. I finally just bent the metal tab up so it would hit the release and that fixed it. (Look for the broken palstic pieces under the seat cusion area as an indication) The dealer replaced the plastic part several times... a waste of time.

SOURCE: '07 Chevy Tahoe 3rd Row seat will not fold down

I have had this problem, and I am having it again. The problem is if a little trash gets under the bar in the floor, it will keep the mechanism from locking completely. I had tried everything. The only solution so far is the rock back and forth. Real pain. I am trying to find a secret release.

SOURCE: Kia Sedona seat stuck

I used a broom. Get in the back row and jam the broom handle under the 2nd row seat. Apply upward leverage and then fold the back rest of the 2nd row seat forwards. This worked first shot for me.

How do you take out third row seats

Follow the numbers on the latches. Step one fold the seat back forward. Step two fold the seat bottom forward. Step three pull the latch marked three towards you while pusing the seat away. This will allow the seat to disengage from the track and you can wheel it towards you and then lift it out of the truck.

Can I put a third row seat ni my 1999 durango

If there is room and you have the floor attachments for it then yes. It may be hard to get to the seat unless the rear seats fold down. You may also be able to get some floor attachments from a scrap yard and drill the holes yourself for placement.

Kia Sedona seat stuck

Got it, with the help and eyes of my wife. The rear latch releases as the seat back is lowered. This release is ALMOST seat back down (about 3 inches above the seat bottom). As the seat back lowers, apply constant lift on the rear latch, and it will release as the seat back lowers. Hard-won knowledge - I think I invented some bad words in the process.

The back seat not going up .

The double seat actually gets caught on the bottom of the second row seat cover. If you move the second row middle seat forward a couple of inches it will release the rear folding seat and allow it to return to the upright position. You can also reach inside the back seat and push the seat cover ( which by the way has a metal bar in it ) forward to release the rear seat.
