My s 430 has smoke coming from under hood after driving but not all the time temp gauage reads normal. I had oil and trans leaks sealed but it is still happening, what else could it be? Thanks

SMOKE UNDER HOOD COULD BE COOLANT LEAK FROM RADIATOR ITSELF OR CHECK FOR LEAKING TOP RADIATOR HOSE AND CHECK FOR LEAKING BOTTOM RADIATOR HOSE.LOOK UNDER THE HOOD IF COOLANT BOILING OUT COOLANT OVERFLOW JUG ENGINE OVERHEATING FROM BAD THERMOSTAT OR BAD WATER PUMP.CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAK AT WATER PUMP WEEP HOLE.IF SO WATER PUMP NEED REPLACING.ADD MORE COOLANT UNTIL LEVEL CORRECT.TRY LOCATE LEAK. IF CAR OVERHEATED AND BOILED IT OUT. SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD CAN ALSO BE CAUSED BY LEAKING VALVE COVERS WHICH CAN BE FIRE HAZARD IF OIL LEAKS ON HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD.

Where do I add brake fluid to my 1999 VW New Beetle? When I open the hood I only see the locations to add oil and coolant.

It should be under the hood on right on the driver's side look by the firewall there has to be a reservoir on top of the master cylinder attached the brake booster. Good luck

Where is the oil filler cap on my 92 xj6-i want to add oil to it but dont know where it is located

There is a red colored cap under the hood accessible from the driver side when the hood is up. It can be very tight especially if the rubber washer under the cap is worn or lost. It is above the dip sticks for the oil and transmission.

O.K,first don't drive the car with that light on unless absolutely neccessary(as in if you need to get somewhere safe or something).Second, yes you can add oil, 5W30,will be fine (does not matter which brand)but you need to make sure you don't add too much.Look for the oil dipstick under the hood to check the level of oil. There will be some kind of mark on the dipstick to show you where the level shhould be, down towards the end tip of the dipstick. There may be 2 dipsticks under the hood,1 for oil and 1 for transmission fluid so make sure yourr looking at the right one.Hope this helps.good luck.

How to check oil and when to add oil

Check oil when oil is warm use a towel the stuffs hot.
Theres a yellow dipstick under the hood located on either side of the engine or on the back side of engine.Pull the dipstick out wipe it clean then check the oil after the oil is warm and the car sits for about 4 minutes not running.Gets all the oil to the pan.Check then if its not to the line on the warm side of the stick add oil. Check oil monthly and change oil every 3,000 miles you can add oil to the oil if low before 3,000 but do not mix two different oils use oil that the truck requires usually it tells you on the cap or inside the hood .

Simply need to check and possibly add oil to an 86 ford areostar

You should see the dip stick on the Driver side under the hood.It will be the only black steel tube that comes up towards the hood. The oil is sometimes poured down the same tube or it will be in the drivers side valve cover..

Noisy engine

under the hood of your car on either the left or right side of the motor you should see something that says "oil" in not then look for a dip stick that is yellow. if you still dont find it when you are under the hood and your pulling out dip sticks if you pull out one that says "add" anywhere towards the bottom then that is the dipstick for the oil on the same side the the motor you should find a round cap that you can twist off this is where you add your oil. if you have anymore question just keep commenting. hope this helps you
