You may have a dirty contact in the window switch, or a loose connection at the switch or window motor in the door.

1998 ford taurus driver window won't go up, I got it up then I hit the inside door panel to get it in place now the window is stuck down again, what doI do?

First, Push the window button that corresponds with the window that is stuck. Slam the door. Jostles the bushings that probably have dried up grease. Then window begins to work again. Second, try taking off the door panel. Once the door panel is off, connect a test light to the harness side of the connector and try the switch in both positions. If it lights up in both switch positions, circuit to motor is fine, and motor is the problem. Sometimes the motors can be fixed, sometimes not.

My rear window wont go up, last year the other side broke also,is this a comon problem with buicks, I dont think I have used these windows but a dozen times, has buick ever had a recall on this problem?...

You need to use the windows more often. To put the window up.start the car,go to the door with the window stuck down, now,as you hit the button on the door to the up position,HIT THE DOOR HARD! The window will go up but it may take a few tries.Push button up just as you hit the door hard.A rubber hammer helps get a good hard hit.

The lock on the driver side sliding door was stuck unlocked. Now it stuck locked.

you should clean the locking mecanism and then lubricate with WD40. If this is a van, my van has a sliding power door on the pass side and a manual slider on the drivers. alot of times the drivers locks and dont lock like it has a mind of its own but it always works with the drivers controls. and then the next time i dont think about it and it works. now it also has child proof locks on them, a little plastic lever you slide up and down as to put in a lock position so child cant open from inside and down to allow door to open from inside. double check this. it wont unlock with the key or power? you might have to take off inner door panel to manually unlock this and get it lubed

Door locks go up an down while driving door lock buttons on each door wont work and now my drivers side door is locked and wont open inside or out

I say dam the luck huh,
Well this is an interesting dilima. Do you happen to remember if the locks went up and down while driving if you happen to hit the brake at the same time they did it. Think back and see if you can pin point something you were doing at the sametime they came up or down. Maybe there is awire underneith by the brake peddal that is getting bumped.
If you see nothing there then I have only a couple ideas. Check all the fuses first pulling one out one at a time and after inspecting for a burnt wire inside the fuse then either replace the bad one with the same amps that came out of it or putting the good one back where you got it. Don't pull more then one at a time or you might mix them up. Extra fuses are sometimes in the fuse box. Go through them all even if you found one bad one. They have a tendency to domino when one blows. Its been know to take two or maybe three out. What about your windows. Are they all working? I am thinking also that your main driver side master control switch is stuck. You can remove that easuly and if you watch closlt pull apart the little plastic box. Inside is contact points. Take some steel wool or borrow your wifes emery board and file the contact areas. Don't worry to much if you mess it up. They are a dime a dozen at the salvage yards. You may want to just go and get one for 5 bucks and replace it instead of messing with the repar job. If all else fails after your piddle with these let me know and we will try one other thing. Good Luck, Raz

2001 Sierra. My driver side window stopped

The window motors are getting weak. If they are stuck down you can sometimes get them up by giving a firm hard hit on inside lower door panel while holding button up. This can get the windows up until you can get the window motor replaced. If you would like any further assistance feel free to ask, Thank you.

Drivers side door wont open from inside, window problems

It is most likely a rod has fallen off inside the door. You may have to use a coat-hanger to read down inside and pull back on door latch to open it up.
Then after it is opened, remove screws on inner door panel, remove window/lock controls, take a big flat-head screwdriver and gently pry next to the plastic tabs holding on door panel. Remove door panel and put window back on track , and replace or reattach door handle rods.

Drivers side window wont close - completely open

If other windows work, it won't be the fuse. Probably switch on door, wiring at door hinge area, or motor. Did you try banging on the inside of the door panel about half way down while hitting the switch, or pulling up on window while someone pushes the switch? That's providing you can get a grip on the glass. Sometimes motor will hit a dead spot & sharp blow to panel, will get it moving again until better fix can be done.

Check the wiring between the drivers door and the A pillar(the body of the car). Sometimes the harness breaks from opening and closing the door.

Back door wont open and window wont go down

The rear window has to be completely down in order to move the tailgate! You should be happy that your window is stuck up, unlike mine which is stuck all the way down! I have to completly take apart my tailgate!! If you want to try a trick to get the rear window down, my bronco has a rear window switch right next to the headlight knob, take the 2 purple wires on that window switch, and cross them, if your motor still works and if the wires are good, that should make the window go down!!! good luck, hope that helps!
