I have a 96 ford mustang 3.8 v-6. what is the fuel pressure on the pump supposed to be?

Fords fuel pumps are mesured in LPH (litres per hour) rather than pressure. I believe your pump should be rated for 155LPH. It is very common to upgrade these fuel pumps to something higher volume when they fail or to accommodate higher horsepower mods.

When you turn the key to run postion see if you can hear the fuel pump run, sounds like the fuel pump may need replaced.

Did you flush out the injector lines? Bad injectors are known to act this way. Check fuel pressure regulator for proper operation.

Car ran fine one day, not it will crank but not


Your fuel system requires 35-45 PSI. If you don't have this pressure in the line then your fuel filter or fuel pump is at fault.

Long cranking before starting


on most model fuel pump has to hold rest pressure possible is loosing the pressure.
have you replace fuel pump?
the best way to test a faulty fuel pump is that before cranking the engine try to put ignition switch to position on and off two or three times for 3 seconds each time then start the car and see what hapen
