A hammer and a large deepwell socket. If you dont know how, take the driveshaft to a garage and they can replace them for you.

Does a 1998 accord coupev6 have lower ball joints

Yes it does have ball joints, and if I am not mistaken on a 98 model the ball joints are available without having to purchase the entire control arm, I think 99 and up you can not get the parts seperate. The ball joints that can be replaced without purchase of entire control arm do have to be pressed in to old control arm. So alot of shops recommend replacement of the entire control arm.

Replacing front ball-joint without proper tools...

Sorry but that only leave taking your repair job to a mechanic. Not advisable to try and do this without the correct tools.

2002 Silverado Ball joint Replacement

You are correct sir. Even without splines, they require some type of press. You may be able to rent a ball joint press from one of the parts houses. I know advance auto and Autozone both have loaner tools.

Upper and lower ball joints

It's definitely easier to replace the control arms with the ball joints. I think you may have to buy new upper control arms anyway if they are oe i don't think the upper ones can be pressed out. If you are going to press the ball joints out you do not need to remove the springs or struts. Brake caliper/rotor/hub and knuckle are removed leaving the upper and lower control arms. i would disconnect the abs connector too if it has abs. recommend supporting the vehicle on the frame somewhere. You can buy a ball joint press kit for about 80$ online or use a really big hammer to smack them out. Putting them back in may be a pain without a press.

Ball joints goin out on a 89 chevy s10 blazer

The ball joints are going to be hard to due if you due not have an arbor press in your garage. They are not the kind that you can replace by yourself unforuantely without a press to press them back into the control arm. If you know a good cheap mechanic this would be a good route becuase a shop is going to charge you an arm and a leg to press these ball joints back in for you.

Replacing a '98 Grand Cherokees ball joints

The only parts you need are the ball joints, upper and lower, a total of 4, if you need all 4. As far as tools, you'll need wrenches, a removal and installer tool, the ball joints are pressed into the control arms, and a ball joint to steering knuckle seperator tool.Without those special tools, you will never get them changed, if you do it yourself.

Front upper ball joint replacement

The dealer's answer (if you are interested).......

The ball joint is pressed into the upper control arm and has a tapered stud for attachment to the steering knuckle. The ball joint stud is attached and locked into the steering knuckle using a special nut. The ball joint is a sealed-for-life type and requires no maintenance. If the ball joint is defective it will require replacement of the entire upper control arm.

Sorry.
