Question about 1990 Toyota Camry
First you need to find out why the check engine light is on. Try a parts store and see if they will get the code from the computer that will tell you what sensor is bad. If you have not replaced an oxygen sensor by now that is probably what is wrong. If these are bad for too long you will damage the catalytic convertor and it will rattle when the engine is running. backfiring and no acceleration can come from the 02 sensor since this sets fuel delivery.
