Question about 1985 Mercury Cougar
You'll need to remove the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing. Unbolt the 2 bolts holding the thermostat to the intake manifold and remove the thermostat housing and thermostat. Clean both mating surfaces and install the new thermostat with a new gasket, reinstall the radiator hose, fill with anti-freeze and check for leaks.
