Find a shop that does scope meter testing. They will be able to give you coil's output.
You may have a faullty plug wire . Take a spray bottle full of water spray it on spark plug wires and see if the engine decreases in idle. If so you need new wires.

With regards to eng lite. have ECU scanned again may be a different code. Autozone does this free of charge.
Did you clean out the carbon on the EGR passage before you put new EGR in?

"Parked on a hill?"....Nose up or nose down? It could be fuel pump or in-line fuel filter problem. When the fuel tank is only half full it becomes pressurized by the evaporation of fuel into the remaining 'air' space. This pressure behaves like a spring pushing fuel into the fuel line to the engine. When the tank is full there is much less space for this 'fuel vapour spring' and as fuel is used by the engine running it quickly reduces in pressure which in turn reduces the fuel line pressure and leads to poor engine running. This fuel vapour in the tank does not matter normally if the fuel pump is doing its job properly. But if the fuel pump is faulty this vapour pressure is the main thing that is helps fuel to get to the engine.

2001 taurus lx engine light wont go off (EGR)

If you are getting an EGR code with the "check engine" light, and you have replaced the EGR Valve already.... please be aware that the DPFE sensor will also give and EGR code as well, you may want to try replacing it and try clearing the "check engine" light again.

Hope this helps...

Where is the EGR pressuure sensor at. Need to replace it.

Ford Taurus SES 3.0 L 6-cylinder
EGR valve are directly behind the intake manifold.

I listen from Taurus owners that just had the same problem (EGR insufficient and EGR excessive) and they replaced the EGR valve and the 4 oxygen sensors (if you do this use Ford sensors). This didn't fix the problem; then changed the Vacuum Regulator Solenoid and a tube mounted sensor part numbers F63Z-9J459-AA, and 4U7Z-9J460-AA. this fixed my check engine light and code issues, as well as it stopped idling so high that it caused the trans to jump into gear. It sometimes jumped so hard that he thought he had a broken motor mount.

Good luck (remember rated this).

1995 Ford Taurus Sho 3.2 check engine light blink 3 3 1 3 3

Code 33 is EGR opening not detected, this is caused by a plugged EGR exhaust passage in the upper intake manifold, this is a common SHO engine fault, the valve works but the engine does nothing that the computer can sense, since no gas flows, to verify this is the problem open the egr at idle, the engine should almost die, if nothing happens or only a tiny change in idle speed or quality the passages are plugged, if it does stall or get real rough the egr position sensor (usual code for sensor is 32) may be faulty or the valve is sticking. I was a ford dealer tech for 30 years and did quite a few of these, there is a TSB (technical service bulletin) about this problem

also have them change the oxygen sensors, if it's deemed necessary. have someone reset the computer. if the light stays off, then you don't have to.

no the code is most likely from a dpfe sensor for you egr system not the egr valve itself.a clogged fuel filter though might cause your low revs

Rough running, erratic spark

Run a compression test on the cylinders. If reading is low on any drop a little engine oil into the pot. If compression rises you have compession ring problems. Remove all plugs before you try this and place leads away from engine.
