Have you checked the ignition control module. Depending on what engine you have it will be located under the coil packs. It could be faulty.

remove the spark plug wite off the plugs 1 at a time replacing right after testing each so as not to cross wire after one is off test it to see if its getting fire through the wire there is a light bulb like item that can be bought for testing wires at your local parts store if its not getting fire check your coil packs using the same tester and the wire adapter if those arent working there is a pick-up coil that the coil packs are mounted to its a small metal plate least on my car anyways most of the time those go bad and people thing the worst they are easy to change and fairly priced mine costed $38.00 at advanced auto

What are cord packs, and culd this be a problem why my 98 Pontiac grand prix wont start

coils packs are a set of 2plugs that are fired by one coil.so if you have a 6 cyl you will have 3 coil packs.its unusuall that all coil packs go bad at once.your no start could be caused by an ignition module, crank sensor, computer, bad connections, bad wiring, even a fuel problem.there may be a code set in the computer that may help to find were ot start to diagnois.it will have to be checked out to pin point the area.

If your firing order is correct(165432), then I would suspect the drenched coil pack. That oily antifreeze will penetrate every nook and cranny of the coil. It's probably shorting out and cross-firing. I would go ahead and replace it. Double check your firing order again. The back cylinders are 2-4-6, counting from to back, but that is not the firing order. The plug wires would attach to the coils in the following order, counting from the front of the coils(nearest to the front of the car)to the rear:1-4-5-2-3-6.Let me know if any of this helps you. Good Luck.

Coil packs

Usually it's best to unbolt the entire bracket. Make sure you label the plug wires. Unplug the control module. Change 1 coil at a time, they should be held on with 7 or 8mm bolts.

the cheapest and quickest way to check for spark is replace your crank sensor if youve done this and you still have no spark then try a coil pack.
