Pop the hood, there is a tray that sits over the radiator, if the locks are still intact, twist them until the tray comes free, (There should be 3 plastic locks) remove the tray. Now you have access to the lights. There is an orange plug on both sides (L&R Headlights). Turn the plug until it frees up, then slide plug out of headlamp fixture. Then simply pull the bulb out and replace with new bulb.

Turn signal lights on a 2006 mercury grand marquis click at a high rate

Either the bulb is burnt out or wrong type in the turn signal lights, or the flasher is bad.

Check that all of your bulbs are of the right number and type (color should match amber or white depending on the lense color).

Good luck on this.

How do you change the front turn signal bulbs on a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis LS?

open hood you will see a long black panel across the front. this panel is called a sight shield you will see 3 "twist clips" one on ether side of each head light and one right by the hood latch . twist all 3 and remove panel.at this point you will see the light sockets.each headlight assembly has 2 retainers. simply unlatch the retainers and the lamp assemblies come out easily and you have access to the bulbs.

Check all earth wires on all lights.
most lights in cars run in series so if u loose one you loose the other mainly caused by bad earth on globe holders or corrosion where bulb sits.
little sand paper goes a long way.

you may be able to access the bulb housing under the hood. open the hood and look behind the turn signal for the bulb housing. once located, grasp the housing and turn counterclockwise about a quarter and then pull. be sure to replace wtih the same type/part number bulb.
