SOURCE: 2002 Suburban ABS System Brake Light

I have had this same problem on two difference vehicles both of which are suburbans.

The solution is simple.
Remove the engine cover.
Locate a small ground wire that is bolted to the top rear of the engine block on the passenger side.
Remove the bolt, clean surfaces and replace.

This should solve your problem.

I know it seems too easy but it works.

SOURCE: Bleeding Brakes on a 2001 Silverado Z71

Tony,

When bleeding brakes after the system has been opened for service (you didn't say if you were doing any work on the master cylinder) you should start with the farthest wheel away from the master cylinder, which is the righ rear. Fill the master cylinder, then have an assitant "pump up" the brake pedal. Tell them to hold it down firmly, then open the bleeder on the wheel cylinder(s). Do not release the brake pedal until you have closed the bleeder valve again. You'll know when the air is out - there won't be any more bubbles. Since this vehicle is 2001, this would be a great opportunity to flush the system. Just make sure you have enough brake fluid (DOT 3 or 4, depending on your vehicle). Good luck!

SOURCE: 1999 Chevy Tahoe- Soft Brake Pedal

Try having the dealer flush and bleed your system. It is very hard to bleed ABS systems yourself and have safe brakes that still work afterward. Bleeding non-ABS brakes yourself is easy not the same for ABS brakes. Valving, sensors and what-not require a tech and the correct equipment in my opinion. You do it wrong and you could ruin your ABS system. Do that and see if they firm up. I replaced my brake shoes/pads at the same time all new everything in back, drums/springs everything and new rotors up front. then I had the chevy dealer flush, refill and bleed system. Stiffer pedal and brakes work better. Keep in mind the brakes on 99 Tahoes are inaedequate, require new rotors often, heat up and fade/glaze pads regularly. I replace my pads long before they wear down because they glaze up and start fading early. I'll rough em up once maybe, next time, new ones. Every two brake jobs, new rotors for me. Just how it is. They will stiffen a bit and work better but they will never be awesome brakes. Just how it is on 99 and earlier Tahoes. Hope it helps. Very important to bleed correctly though. I'll bleed my 83 Toyota 4x4 myself but not the Tahoe.

For some reason these vehicles you need to bleed brakes several times, had same problem, so air hangs up in lines somewhere it apears. When you say brakes sticks, describe it better, locked up, or dragging on rotors?

Brake booster issue in swift

The first thing you need to confurm is the brake warning light on on the daskboard . If it is then its likely a problem with with a leak in the hydrloic system . If brake fluid can get out then air is getting in the system .So check all of the wheels if you have a leak you will see it on the inside of the tire also check inside the cab at the top of the brake pedel where the rod comes from the back of the master cylinder if you see oil them the master is bad . The booster control unit is an anistest system that is powered by your main engine vacuum witch is the 1/2 inch hose connected to it under the hood . The way the unit works is it has a diafram inside it and when you push on the pedel the pressure on the front side of the diafard becomes lower and the engine vacuum draws it forward to asistist by putting more pressure on the master cylinder . Its hard to test but if you can hear a suction noise when you hit the brake and the pedel goes from hard to soft or any combination like this it could be the problem but the hiss noise is a dead give away it dose draw air in but it should not come out when the brake is applyed . And keep in mind that this problem could also be a bad master cylinder that has blowen internialy and would not set the warning light off because there is no leak or in balance in the hydrolic system . But would realy screw with the brakes so they would work one time and be low or high from lock up to vary little brakes the next and the master is also vary hard to test . But brakes are vary redondent and rarly completely fail Good luck with it John

Bleed right rear, left rear, right front, left front in that order to be sure of good bleed but the brake booster makes it easy to push pedal. Make sure of no leaks from master cylinder. Otherwise brake hoses being soft will also hurt baking quickly.

2002 suzuki grand vitara brake warning goes on and off

Do you have a brake fluid accumulator(ABS)? If yes, the pistons/pulsing assembly are worn, and may need to be replaced.

If not, you may have a vacuum leak in the power booster (located on the firewall). Check all hose and clamps for a tight fit/cracks,etc. Vacuum leaks cause intermittent brake failure lights.

You may want to park the vehicle on a clean surface, pump the brakes a few times, and check for brake fluid leaks. If there is a leaking wheel cylinder (back brakes) , caliper (front brakes), or brake line, you will be able to see it.

Leaks cause pressure loss, and, thus, the brake warning light will illuminate.

the red brake warning light will usually indicate low brake pressure, abs light can come on also, check fluid level, does brake pedal become soft and spongy?if so it can be the brakes master cylinder,if fluid level is low,can be a damaged brake line, inspect brake system,
