Question about Ford Probe
96 Probe GT, 144,000 mi. I understand the fuel pump should run when I turn the key on by mine does not. When I jumper F/P to GND it still does not run. Car starts and runs OK. Fuel pressure at idle is 32 psi (low end of acceptable range) and briefly jumps to 38-40 psi when I accelerate the engine. Do I have a fuel pump issue?
Does your car run? Some fuel pumps run quiet so you will need to get your ear close to the gas tank and have someone turn on the ignition. The pumps only run about 3 seconds when the ignition is turn on without starting the engine.
