Use a 14mm wrench or socket to remove the caliper bolts/slides. remove caliper. note how old pads came off, match the new pads with same location of old pads ( check for hardware or indicator location). press the caliper piston in . the correct way is to use a caliper press, apply a little pressure to piston, open bleeder screw, press piston all the way in, tighten bleeder. (or grab a 'c' clamp and slowly push the piston in. i would recommend having the rotors machined to for proper wear and to eliminate vibration. for this remove 2 17mm bolts holding caliper bracket on and rotor will slide off.

Adjust handbrake in Hyundai tucson

The adjustment is made at the handle under the console:

ADJUSTMENT OF PARKING BRAKE STROKE

1.Pull the brake lever with a force of approx. 196 N (20 kg, 44 lbs.) and check the number of clicks.

Parking brake lever stroke (Standard value) : 8 clicks

2.If the number of notches is not the standard value, adjust the cable length with the adjusting nut on the equalizer.
3.The indicator light will go out when the brake lever is fully released, and will light up with the lever pulled one notch. If it does not operate properly, replace it.
4.After the adjustment, check that the rear brakes do not drag with the parking brake lever released.

Brake pad light still on after pads were replaced.

if you didn't replace the brake pad wear sensor, you wont be able to reset the light. if you did and it still doesn't reset, you need to get into the maintenance system with a scanner, (your local garage should be able to do it) and reset the brake pad wear counter

Ave developed a loud humming type sound from the rear wheels of a 2007 Tucson. It seems to happen after driving several miles and is constant except when I touch the brake pedal when it momentarily stops....

Rust can build up in the rear calipers between the bracket and pad. This causes the outside pad to stick. When 15,30,45,60k etc services are done at a dealership, cleaning the rear brakes is a normal part of the service.

Smell of burn and a grinding noise like metal on metal

This could be a few different things. Immediately check all fluid levels, check brake pads and shoes for linigs and make sure the parking brake is off. If this doesnt reveal the cause please give more details

Proper brake pad replacement procedure for 2007 saturn aura

The proper replacment proceedures for saturn aura brake pads front is to take off your wheels, unbolt the caliper housing on it. You should also replace the shims when you replace the brake pads, it's the metal brackets around the pads. The new brake pads slide into place. If i was you I would also replace the caliper pin boots with new ones aftermarket. My car had a warping issue and a uneven brake pad wear and this fixed both problems. Need anything else ask, the tire should be retorqued to 100ft/lbs when you reassemble everything.

Instructions for replacing the front brake pads-2005 Hyundai Tucs

Jack the front of the car up, and make sure it is securely supported. Remove the wheel, remove the 2 guide bolts (located on the back of the caliper), and remove the caliper, hanging it by a coat hanger or wire to keep pressure off the brake line. Remove the pads and shims. Clean rotor with brake parts cleaner, and install new pads/shims. Repeat on other isde. Check with the parts store to see whether or not you need to use anti-squeak compound for your specific brake pads. Once you install them, you will need to bed the brakes to get the most use out of them. Accelerate to 30mph, then hard brake to zero (5-10 times), then repeat but to 60mph and hard brake to zero. Do this a couple times, and you will get very long life out of your brakes.

make sure you have the piston compressed all the way and the adjuster compressed all the way, if so check the thicknesses of the new pads and or rotors if they were replaced you may have a clearance problem that requires a little machining
