In the glove box will be a self affixed tag with many codes upon it. The code starting with the letter G will be the ratio code needed to ID the rear axle

In general you have to drain the rear end, remove the cover, remove the carrier pin, remove the axles, then remove the carrier from the main shaft and replace the bearings.

Whats the axle ratio and identification code and whats interchangeable with a 1996 chevy S10 ext. cab Ls

Tag should be on rear differential cover. If its two wheel drive, it don't much matter what ratio you put in, except for the speedo will be off. GM 10 bolts are a dime a dozen.

Why do I have oil in my breaks of my 1996 Chevy

if your talking about the rear brakes its probably the differential axle seal that is leaking differential oil out of the rear end onto the brake shoes. you will have to pull the rear axle to replace the seal and clean the rear brakes/area with brake cleaner or replace the rear brakes if they are too soaked with brake fluid.

Want to change a leaky seal on a axle shaft on

take off the housing cover in the middle of the rear end and to each side there is a retainer clip for each side. Pull it out and that side comes out. I don't think you needed to remove the rear end to do this though.

Need to know where the rear axle pins are in 98 s10 blazer

No "axle pins". Axles are held in with "c" clips. Remove wheels. Remove drums (or rotors). Remove differential cover. Rotate axles or driveshaft until a small bolt running horizontally can be seen. It has an 8 millimeter head. Remove this bolt. It holds in a shaft that is about 1 inch in diameter an 3 inches long. Remove that shaft. Shove axle towards center of vehicle one at a time. C clip can now be removed from internal end of axle and axle can be slid out of axle housing. When axles are removed DO NOT ROTATE DRIVESHAFT OR CARRIER.
