Check gas cap shows up on my 2005 Pontiac grandprix gtp, I replaced the gas cap and now have the same error code showing up. I heard the dealer does smoke testing, not sure what else I can do!

There is a valve behind the quarter panel right below the gas cap and they go bad replace that and get the code deleted by a shop.(advanced, autozone, etc..) and you should be good to go.

The new gas caps made by gm are nuts no more turning it with the threads it has to be put on the right way other wise the code will stay on i would take it to the dealer and have them put it on and reset the light for you to see if its a faulty gas filler neck trust me it looks likes its on but not on correctly

2004 grandprix gt has this issue where it will only start if given alittle throttle

Check the throttle position sensor adjustment .Check for correct idle speed sensor. Check MAF sensor. If you have replaced any item with non genuine item it is possible that the cpu is having trouble reading the settings as they are different to genuine settings. While there are no fault codes showing the settings may be at max or min and the codes will not show up.

Hi have a pontiac G6 GT 2005 I have a message that comes on saying check gas cap the 1st time it happened it was under warranty and the dealership replaced the gas cap for me, a year later the same thing...

The fuel cap needs to be tight or it will set a code. It's a pressurized fuel system. Try to tighten snug the code should clear itself. If this does'nt work exchage the fuel cap, it may not be working properly.

Just wanted to know how much it would cost for a tune up on a 04 grandprix gtp?

You could do this yourself for as little as 12 dollars and rarely over 60.

Six copper core autolite 605 spark plugs, a can of throttle body cleaner and a reusable air filter.

At a shop or dealership...over a hundred.
