I have a 1998 ram with a 5 speed that is noisy in 1 2 and 3rd gears is there something in common with those or would it possibly be a throw out bearing?

These gears are on separate shafts and controled by the different selector forks, so there is a possibility it can be bearings on both shafts, it might be as well the release bearing as these gears put a lot of pressure on it.You would need to remove the gearbox and have it examined.

If you mean you can't get it into gear, that means either
* the clutch hydraulic system has a problem, commonly the slave cylinder; or
* the clutch itself has worn out.

1999 f150 4.2 5 speed won't shift. have to start

Have you checked the clutch master cylinder? If it is low on fluid it means you may have a leak possibly at the slave cylinder. Add fluid if needed and see if it improves.

Could be clutch is worn. Check shift fork. Also the throw out bearing should be replaced.

1999 k2500 4x4 5 speed started grinding only when

If it is noisy only in third, then third is where the problem is, cluster gear and/or mainshaft gear. Rule of thumb, if it is noisy in only one forward gear, then that gear is where the problem is.

Have you had the rear diff serviced regularly? If not, this is most likely the cause. Metal builds up on the sensor, and "shorts" it out. Keeping your diff serviced every 30K should help them last longer.

1998 dodge 1500 wont shift

first of all standard or auto i am guessing its standed standard under drivers side hood near master cylinder there is a small clutch reservoir if there isnt enough fluid it wont extend the throw out bearing far enough for a shift because the clutch pedal is hitting the floor not enough fluid to extend the slave cylinder to drive the fork second faulty slave cylinder or throw out bearing as far as the light blown dash bulb or somone snipped the wire or took the bulb out
