This may be an old school question, do you feel pulsating on the brake pedal? Have the brakes, themselves, been checked?

With my ford explorer 2001 sport track has been having a sorteach. Some times the brakes when you push the brakes too stop sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. What can it be???

If you are saying that some times the brakes work when you step on them , and sometime they don't , The only thing that would cause that would be worn seals inside the brake master cylinder.
It would need to be replaced.

Due to poor design on Fords part. When you use the tilt often, the wires inside due not have enough relief. They are to tight. My 02 sport track had same problem. Wire actually broke off inside the steering column. Take off the lower then upper plastic around column. You probably have broken or loose wires

you may have to take the rotors back off completely and look for the baby brake shoes behind the rotors because sometimes they will hang up and give you some of the problems you are having
