Check the brake fluid level and add if needed. If the fluid is low ...I would inspect the brake system. Inspect brake pad thickness and check for any brake fluid leaks. If the fluid is full and the abs light is still on..the code or codes will need to be retrived from the ABS Module to determine what part of the system is having a fault.

Red brake warning light comes on when the car turns a corner or comes to a stop.

fluid is low probably due to worn brake pads. factory specs are dot 3 fluid. fill to full line. may need a flashlight and a funnel to add the fluuid. hope this helps

Emergency brake light stays on also battery light on

Assuming there is not a problem with the parking brake (as in a stuck switch), the red "BRAKE" light will remain on if your brake fluid is low (for your regular service brakes). Check your fluid, and if it is low, check your brakes and brake lines to be sure there isn't a leak somewhere, as this could be dangerous!

Brake fluid level will drop slightly as your brake pads/shoes wear over time. If you need brake pads or shoes, avoid topping the fluid off, as it will overflow when you go to compress the pistons in the calipers later on (when changing your brake pads). If you MUST add fluid, only add to the "FULL" mark. If you have a leak, remember the brakes must be bled after you repair the leak.

The battery light signifies a charging problem. You will need to check the output of your alternator, as in volts AND amps. Usually a local garage will be able to perform a quick (and cheap) check of your charging system. Check your battery too, to be sure that it holds a good charge.

Need to add brake fluid to my 2003 Pontiac Aztek. Can you provide a checklist for me to follow?

The checklist?? You MUST have a sealed container of brake fluid, so you have no moisture in the fluid.

BUT...if you need to add fluid, the indication is that you may be close to replacement time on you brake pads. Here is the deal: if you have full reservior and new brake pads,.... it takes about one reservoir of fluid to make up for full brake pad consumption. What this means is: IF you were to fill up the reservior, then fluid needs to be removed when you replace the pads.

I suggest that you consider replacement of the brake pads, then flush brake fluid and top it up.

My brake light did not warn me that i needed brakes

someone probably topped off your brake fluid when your brakes were low. the only way i know is to have new front and back brakes then make sure the brake fluid level is right . the light only comes on if your brake fluid goes low so the system has too much fluid if it says full and your brakes are not new front and back

Brake pedal travel long-slow to stop.

check your front brake pads and see if they need replaced then check your brake fluid after you change them. If you add brake fluid first you will leak brake fluid out when you compress the calipers to change the front brake pads. In the end make sure your brake master cylinder is full of dot 3 brake fluid before you drive.

when you open the hood, on the back wall on the drivers side is your brake fluid reservoir. It is a clear plastic tank with a black lid. Usually there is a line on the side to see the level of the brake fluid. If you can see the fluid is to the line, you are good to go. If it looks low, then you need to unlatch the lid and pour in brake fluid till it is at the full line

Not going into gear

have you checked your brake lights? are they working? most cars have a safety feature that require a signal from brake lights (by stepping on brake pedal) to activate a relay to disengage the shifter interlock, OR can you move the gear selector into gear, and it just won't move? is it an automatic or stick shift ? If it's an automatic start the car, after it has ran for 5 - 10 minutes check the trans fluid dipstick, it should have fluid level between add / full marks , if not add or remove fluid as necessary. If is a manual trans, it is possible the clutch is bad. need more info on vehicle, how many miles? engine size?
