Unable to remove rear brakedrum 2001 focus

the drum and bearing are one unit. You'll need to remove the center cap and the axle nut. The drum will then come off with no problem.

Make sure you tighten the axle nut to the proper spec after you put the drum back on, otherwise you'll ruin the bearing

I adjusted my handbrake cable on my 2001 ford focus SE but it still acts like there is no brake. The cable tigtened so i dont think its broken but what is the solution to getting the "e-brake" to work?

The adjustment that you touched on the cable shouldn't be touched. Well it really only gets adjusted when new cable/s are installed or if after the drum brakes are adjusted and there is still play in the cable, then it is adjusted.

How do you remove the rear brake drum?

Before you begin make sure your emergency brake is off.

1. Jack up the car and remove rear tires.
2. With a 13mm socket and ratchet remove the 4 bolts that are on the back of the hub assembly. (You will need an extension and a universal joint adapter)
3. Pull the drum off and the spindle will come off with it, giving you access to the shoes, wheel cylinder, hold down hardware, etc... (you may need to adjust your brake shoes so the drum will slide off easier.)

Do not undo the nut in the middle of the drum (under the dust cap) unless you absolutely need to turn the drum or replace the drum as the threads on the spindle are known to strip very easily. Should you need to take it off the socket for the spindle nut is a 30mm.

Can`t get the drum and bearing of the spindle of 2007 focus

I assume you are talking about the rear wheel which has got a drum brakes will need a hammer and give a few hit all around its circumference while you try to pull the drum out...this should help you to get this out..and hence to the bearing.Hope this helps.

2001 Focus zx3 rear brakes- pads or drums???

If they look like a smaller version of your front brakes where you can see the disc (should be shiny on the side of the disc where the pad touches the rotor) then you have disk brakes.

If it's all black, or all kinda of rusted looking and all you see is a "cap" over everything behind the rim, then it'll be a drum...

95% of the zx3's have drums
only 5% of zx3's had discs. The ones that have disc brakes, also came with traction control as part of the package.

Rear drum will not come off of 01 ford focus

There are no grub screws on focus drums, you have to undo the four bolts behind the drum to release it,it then comes off wheel bearing and all.
