If you are seeing a "no key" symbol on your BMW's dashboard and your window went down, it could indicate a problem with the key or the vehicle's anti-theft system. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check the key battery: A low battery in your key fob can cause communication issues with the vehicle, leading to the "no key" symbol. Replace the battery in your key fob and try starting the car again.
Try a spare key: If you have a spare key, try using it to start the car. If the spare key works, then the issue is likely with the original key fob, and you may need to have it reprogrammed or replaced.
Check for interference: Sometimes, other electronic devices or signals can interfere with the key's communication with the car. Move away from any potential sources of interference, such as cell phones or other electronic devices, and try starting the car again.
Check the fuse: If your window is not responding, it may be related to a blown fuse. Check the vehicle's fuse box and replace any blown fuses.
Contact a professional: If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to contact a professional mechanic or BMW dealership for further diagnosis and repair.
It's important to address this issue promptly as it can leave your car vulnerable to theft (obviously). Hope that helps!!!
You need to have the spare reprogrammed as it has an immobiliser chip that sends a signal to the cars ecu so if the ecu doesn't recognise the chip the engine won't start.

Spelling was fine, along with grammar and punctuation-you should see some of the mangled illegible questions we have to decipher, or try to!
But thanks for the follow-up on your problem and the solution. Who would have thought was just the battery? Responses like yours are great encouragement to keep going.
