The ground wires are the wires that lead back to the Negative (-) side of the battery and they complete any circuit in your electrical system (in other words any circuit that does not have a ground will not work). The main ground wire (-) from the battery should lead back to the egine and be connected to the engine block itself or at least a strong metal bracket that is attached to the engine block, and there should also be a smaller wire leading to the body of the vehicle, that is if the main Neg. (-) battery cable is not already grounded on the body somewhere on its way to the engine. Do you get any power at all like the headlights when the battery is connected? Do you have dash lights when the key is on?

The battery (-) Negative cable that goes to the block.Make sure you have tight connections at both ends.On some .they have a cable that goes from the negative battery cable to the body of the car and one from the block and the frame.

Starter wiill not even engage turned the key on and nothing ran fine when I parked it and got up in the morning and wont even tur n over. Brand new battery

Hmm, possible problems:
- starter or starter solenoid defective.
- neutral switch or wiring thereto defective. Shift selector has to be in Park or Neutral to start. Sometimes brake pedal has to be pressed also for starter to turn.
- remote starter system defective (if you have this) This would be hard to diagnose.
I would first confirm if the starter works by putting 12V directly from positive pole on battery to positive connector on starter solenoid (use jumper cable, and wear goggles in case of massive sparking when you accidentally touch ground.)

Starter unresponsive but alternatorn and battery are both good

Check the grounding from the starter, in fact, check all the heavy ground wires, put a multimeter across the starter too.. but always check fuses first as an added precaution, check your ignition wires are sound (is the key loose in its cylinder ?) sounds like grounding though....having replaced those two components, are all the wires solidly connected... good luck Red.

Blown fuses

sounds like a bad ground somewhere or check your ground wire on your starter and even your igniton switch cause if they go bad then your car either wont start or wont stay running

94 jeep hard to start like battery is weak

starter cannot act good if it does not spin the engine over quickly with new battery
pull it for a bench test under load
check and clean terminals and check for good ground point

All my lights flicker when driving at night,What do you think is the problem

I loose connection probably a dirty ground or something. This is assuming that the flickering is caused by hitting bumps. I guess it might even be possible for a switch that is going bad to maybe do this, I would start at the battery and make sure that the cables are tight, then move to the ground wire on the block, then the starter wires, then the alternator. If you find any loose give it a try at night again, if the problem continues have your battery and alternator tested. They will do this for free at Autozone, O'Reilly's, etc. Please let me know if this helped, or if you have more questions.

Just maybe the battery and alt were good. You did test them, before replacing didn't you? How about the starter solenoid, starter or ground connections or cables with too much resistance. Do a voltage drop test, on all grounds, you can get to.
