Sounds like the light blew out. And the fan could just be the radiator fan which will stay on even with the car off and keys out. It has to cool the coolant and engine. Usually happens in warmer weather.

Zafira radiator fan

Turning on the heat removes heat from the engine as it blows it on you. Make sure first that there are no air pockets in your cooling system as that can cause high temp reading and malfunctions in proper fan engagement. If that looks good test your fan, if it is working then test the fan relay, if it is working test the temperature sensor that gives the relay the go ahead to engage the fan.

Acura legend ac control untied stop working along with the fans any idea wat could it be

The rotary control switch on the dash controls the blower motor for the A/C. The A/C will not turn on unless the blower motor is functioning properly. The passenger-side radiator fan will not turn on until the A/C begins running. BUT the driver's side radiator fan should always work. Ergo, check the function of the blower motor (located underneath the dash behind the glove box). Usually when it goes bad, it's because of the blower motor RESISTOR (mounted inside the blower motor housing). When the resistor goes bad, the blower motor shorts out, causing it to fail. The switch rarely ever fails. The radiator fan relays are located next to & on both ends of the radiator. Check them too. In the link, the blower motor RESISTOR is #5.

Make sure your radiator fan is working or cutting on.It could be a faulty fan relay or fuse and it could also be a faulty coolant temperature sensor.

I have a 2001 lancer there is water leaking from somewhere at the bottom of the radiator and the fans are not working when I turn the engine on what could this be, thanks Fiona

Almost certainly the radiator requires cleaning or most likely for a 10 year old car, replacing. Have a garage look at it. I'd expect that the lower 1/4 of the radiator is deteriorated (corroded) badly. You should replace the radiator hoses and clamps at the same time.

The fans do not come on immediately when you start the engine. One comes on automatically when the temperature gets high enough: there's a temperature switch in the bottom of the radiator that controls this. The other fan is for the A/C and turns on when needed. It usually starts when the A/C is turned on and the car is not moving.

When the car is moving more than about 20kph the fans are generally not needed.

I HAVE 2008 FORD FUSION V6 SEL, THE HEAT SYSTEM IS TO SLOW IT TAKES 20MIN TO 25 MIN TO WORK.THANK YOU

This sounds like a bad water thermostat or a cooling fan relay stuck on Run. The thermostat should be under the top housing of the motor where the big radiator hose meets the engine.

The other method of cooling a hot motor is the electric fan attached to one side of the Radiator. This fan may run more when the A/C is on, but when you are using the heat it should not run constantly. This fan should be off when the motor is cold.

In some cases the sensor for the fan will make a trouble Code and light the "check engine" light on the dash. You can get a free scan from Autozone or Oreillys.

Once you get heat in the motor your heater should work quicker. If the motor is hot and the heater is not, feel the smaller hoses running from the motor to the Firewall. They are about 5/8 to 3/4 inch diameter hoses. They should be hot with the heater on. If they are hot, and the heater in the car is only warm or cold, you have a ductwork problem under the dash. If the hoses are not hot, you have a flow problem. With the flow problem, either the heater core is plugged or a water valve is not turning on.

I hope my solution has identified the problem and given you a way to trace it. Start with the thermostat, new gasket, and some antifreeze to replace spillage. If you did have a warning light, either disconnect the NEG battery cable for 10 minutes or ask Autozone or Oreillys to clear your car with their scanner. Old error codes will stay in memory for 25-35 Startups if you don't clear them.

REMOVING WATERPUMP

NOTE: This procedure may be easier if the radiator and shroud is removed. If the radiator is not removed, place cardboard in front so not to damage the radiator core
  1. Open the hood and disconnect the battery. Remove the lower engine cover.
  2. Drain the cooling system. CAUTION
When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.
  3. On cars without air conditioning, remove the fan.
  4. On cars with air conditioning, remove the air pump and generator mounting bolts, then remove the fan and air pump drive belt (pivot the generator and air pump in toward the engine). Remove the fan and pulley with set plate. Remove the hoses to the pump.
  5. Remove the 6 bolts attaching the water pump and remove the water pump assembly. Clean all gasket surfaces carefully. To install:
  6. Install the 6 bolts attaching the water pump with a new gasket.
  7. On cars with air conditioning, install the air pump and generator mounting bolts, then install the fan and air pump drive belt (pivot the generator and air pump in toward the engine). Install the fan and pulley with set plate. Install the hoses to the pump.
  8. On cars without air conditioning, install the fan.
  9. Refill the cooling system.
  10. Connect the battery, start the engine and check for leaks.

Rad fan makes car shake 2003 sunfire

I would check the radiator fan in the car for looseness. If the fan wobbles or moves , Then change out the radiator fan. The radiator fan and motor come as one piece. There is a fan relay also should be replaced.
When turning the key only half way to make the dash fan work, indicates that the dash fan is okay.
The dash fan may make a whining or high pitch noise when engage. Then I would change it out because an internal bearing to the fan is going out.

Good luck
