Our windows stopped working on our 2001 chevy Silverado. Is this a common problem? The window is stuck open on one side and won't go up or down on the passenger side. Suggestions to fix this?

I don't know about common , but mine did a similar thing the windows didn't go down all the sudden , turns out the guy I had detail the inside had moved a wire to across the seat track (I got power seats) and I of course got back in an moved the seat back ,cutting the wire and shorting out the seats and windows , wow was I surprised when on the way home I went to a drive in window , and couldn't put the window down !!!!!! took me a few days and a few new fuses to figure that one out !!!!

The drivers seat won't move and the heated seats won't work on both sides. Where is the fuse?

Check underneath the seat for an inline fuse. It is a glass type fuse in a fuse holder that you have to push and twist to get out.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Power window won't go down but you can here the motor running in the door

You can remove the door handles and power window switches and the screws in the door pad and push up on the pad and it will come out of the track and then you can see the motor and replace the part yourself. Hope this helps.

2009 impala driver side power seat won't move up/down, makes whirring sound when attempted. Moves forward backward. Passenger seat works properly.

Before you do any of the expensive things disconnect and reconnect the wiring to the seat I had the same exact problem with my 2009 Chevy Impala and was ready to take it to the dealer when I disconnected the power cables to it and reconnected them I found that one of the Harnesses was loose and the problem was solved

Why won't my left rear seat lock in my 2007 A4 2.0T Quattro?

is it jammed upright or flat? if its the same problem mum had with her car.. i fixed it by sitting on the seat, holding button down and jerking the seat forward quickly (holding it so it didn't come away from the hinge) and as soon as it gives grease the hinge which should be visible via the boot and the lock. i hope i provided some help. :)

I changed the battery of my mazda 6 and I tried to roll the windows down with the key button and it didn`t work. I dont know if this is a problem with the battery or the computer. thanks

Here is the proper procedure,

POWER WINDOW INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE
1. Turn ignition to ON position.
2. From driver's seat ensure window lockout switch is NOT depressed.
3. Press window switch down to fully open door window.
4. Pull window switch up to fully close door window; hold switch up for two (2) seconds; release switch.
5. Move to front passenger seat and repeat Steps 3 - 4 on passenger window switch.
6. Mazdaspeed6 Only: Move to rear seat and repeat Steps 3 - 4 at left and right rear seat window switches.
7. Verify proper window operation using each door switch.

This was taken from a service bulletin.

Power seat not working

My drivers side power seat stopped moving forward and back...back rest still worked. Took it to dealer and they charged me $60 to fix a "loose wire."
The seat worked for 2-3 days and quit again. Took it back to the dealer, and they now said it needed a new motor and track at a cost of $750+. Told them to forget it and called GM. GM will not cover it, and they have not covered a host of other problems like new radiator, new water pump, new instrument guage cluster, cracked exhaust manifold, and misaligned rear door/window air deflector (which they even have a bulletin out to all service department that it is poor design and the body shop should "shave the plastic down so it doesn't hit roof when door is open).

Back to the seat, I took a large, flat blade screwdriver and ran it along the seat guide rails and pryed on the seat mount slightly....guess what? It the power seat now moves forward and back.

Bottom line is GM manufactures junk and will not stand behind it. Now we know why the company is going bankrupt.
