For an HP Laptop if yours is the Pavilion Series, all you need to do is to restart the system; holding down F11 function key while the Laptop is starting till you hear a beep.

Then at this point just follow the system prompt to restore either to factory default setting or to restore to an earlier date.

I hope this should help you out.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Overhead DVD player in 2008 Toyota Sienna does not show the picture. Sound works.

Hello, I hope this helps. If no change then you probably have a hardware/ wiring issue and the dvd player may need to come out. Please advise
1. Confirm the DVD RSE system is inoperative. (blank screen) 2. For vehicles with Toyota navigation system: Perform the following procedure to turn OFF the RSE Lock function. A. Press the INFO switch on the navigation unit. B. Press the "Screen Setting" touch button on the navigation display. C. Under the "Rear Lock" option, press the "OFF" touch button and then press "OK" in the upper right part of the display. D. Press the DVD switch on the RSE system (if a DVD is NOT already in the player, insert one) and confirm screen is ON and the system will play DVDs. 3. For vehicles without Toyota navigation system: Perform the following procedure to turn OFF the RSE Lock function. A. Push the Audio Control knob multiple times to cycle through the various options (Bass, Mid, Treble, etc.) until "REAR LOCK" is shown on the screen. B. Turn the Audio Control knob so the display says "OFF" next to "REAR LOCK". C. Press the DVD switch on the RSE (if a DVD is NOT already in the player, insert one) and confirm screen is ON and the system will play DVDs. 4. If the above procedure resolves the concern, explain the system operation to the customer. This procedure is described in the Audio/Video" section of the vehicle Owner's Manual. 5. I replaced battery on 2004 chevy trailblazer and now a/c blows cold and hot

Before any parts are replaced in the HVAC system, try the following procedure to recalibrate the system. Turn all switches and controls to OFF or fully CCW positions, then disconnect the battery for about 2 minutes. Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition to the ON position (don't need to start engine) and don't touch any of the HVAC controls for about 2 minutes. After that try the system again and see if it works correctly, if not, you will need to have a mechanic diagnose it.

I have an hp pavilion 7840 that says "operating system not found"

It is quite possible the hard drive froz. Look in the Bios to see if it says there is a hard drive connected. The firs thing to try is to hook it up to your laptop with a usb wire made to handle the type of drive you have ide/sata sometimes you will be able to retrieve your infor from the disk that way.
One recent savior I read about is to try to put the hard drive in the freezer(sealed in 2 zip lock bags) for 6-10 hours and then try it as sometimes the contraction of freezing will free it. If that works get your info off FAT as you don't know how long it will work for.

Welcome to Fixya

Try this procedure:

Access alarm system control module. It is located on the at the facia panel in the center. Once you have found this module, ensure that the memory switch is in the OFF position. Then turn the ignition on. Wait 5 seconds and set the memory switch to SET position and then press the remote transmitter lock button to send the code to the alarm system control module. If you would like to program a second remote transmitter then you will need to press second remote transmitter lock button. Next set the memory switch to off, then turn the ignition off. You can confirm your programming by locking and unlocking the vehicle with both of the remotes.

2000 F150 Hard to steer, changed pump problem still there.

When ever you open up the lines to the power steering pump, there is a procedure you have to do to take the air out of the system, you have t raise your truck off the ground put it on jack stands, turn motor on and turn the wheels right and left and apply fluid to your pump as needed do this about 7 or 8 times, then put it back on the ground and if the air is out of the system, your power steering should return back to normal. you don't have to put it in gear when you raise it, so long as you can turn your steering freely to the right and left all the way. good luck!
