Try giving the car a tune up and air filter replacement.

How do I clear the codes after changing fuel filter on 2000 mercury grand marquis

The easiest way is with an OBDII Scan tool, however disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes will usually do the trick too.

What does code p1136 mean on 2000 grand marquis?

"Long term fuel trim"; it's running a little too lean. Check your fuel pump pressure & flow.

Repacing fuel pump on 2000 mercury grand marquis

All Fuel Pumps are inside the fuel tank

Have to drop the tank down & remove pump
from the top

Been that way for 25 years

First you have to diagnose the real problem
Can't assume the pump is bad

Someone will need to check for spark to the plugs and fuel pressure when it fails to start. Could be a relay or several other components.

Sounds like a weak fuel pump so i would check the fuel pressure first. If its not within the specs replace the pump.

2000 Mercury grand marquis has frequent intermittent shuddering, especially going up hill, and stops when ever I let off the gas or give it more gas. Also now it's starting to have delayed downshifts...

These sound like two seperate problems. The first sounds like a clogged fuel filter or faulty fuel pump. The second problem could be a bad transmission filter.

Where is the fuel pump located and how do you replace it on a 2000 grand marquis

On your 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis 4.6L SFI , the Fuel Filter is located: Under vehicle, passenger side, below seating area, passenger side of fuel tank, mounted on frame in fuel line

it is attached to the frame near the rear passenger side door by a hose clamp, so you need a screwdriver to loosen the clamp, and pliers to remove the lines.
