Concern about the computer system, little things like the date when set on the system won't hold or when turned off date will change.Alsofuel tank gage after filled will show empty and the gage will bounce back and forth between full and empty, then right turn signal does not work. Hi- The computer 'system' is actually 4 or 5 modules, or controllers tucked into the dash, under the backseat, and in the engine compartment. First, the clock is easily affected by momentary drops in voltage or loose connection at battery. The monster battery installed in the Aurora is expected to run a small city, but have it tested to eliminate it anyway. As far as the fuel guage goes.... notorious for dropping like a rock below 1/2 tank. Guage is not controlled by computer but sends low fuel signal when float bottoms out. I have owned a 95 'Ourora for 8yrs... Please acknowledge this post if helpful. Have more info if needed- Thanks--Ed

Take the vehicle out and drive it at 55 miles an hour if you can and see if that changes anything. GM's vehicles had a lost info setting in the computer that would cause the engine to idle at high RPM if the computer could not be sure of the IAC motor position. The motor is set back to home/closed position once the vehicle passed a certian speed in normal driving. The problem you have is why I have never been a fan of engine swaps! The wiring harness for the two engines is probably different too. I once worked on a car that had a fried dash harness because the cigarette lighter screwed up. Insurance company would only pay for used parts I personally went and pulled the dash harness out of a car that was the same model and year, but back at the shop the two harnesses had very little in common.

Won't start fuel pump replaced new tank and relay have fuel after fuel filter runs if I put fuel down throttle body. this is on a4,3.

Nephew had similar problem on different vehicle - had spark to plugs, limited gas, everthing else checked. I did one thing first - check for two fuel filters - one in the tank was only screens and one in the line itself. Found a little in line filter just outside of engine compartment under car next to frame that looked like it had never been changed - partially clogged - replaced it.Almost ran but would not keep running. I had rotor and cap pulled - found that the screw holding rotor in place was loose. The rotor edge next to plug wire leads was chopped up and the cap's plug wire leads were heavily oxidized. Replaced them and got it running but a little rough. Pulled the spark plugs and found gaps from 25 - 100 ---replaced the plugs with correct gapping and it ran really well.

1998 Jeep grand cherokee Laredo turning over but won't start. It sounds like it wants to start but just won't power into it. We changed spark plugs w/in last year, brand new battery, the alternator...

When it sounds like it wants to start but won't, it is almost always a fuel problem. When you first turn on the ignition key (radio off, in a quiet setting) do you hear a faint 'hum' from the rear of the car? If so, your fuel pump is probably alright, so the next check it to remove the small, light green plastic cap (it might be black, about the size of a tire valve cap) on the top of the engine-it is part of the fuel rail and has a small pin in the center of it. With a rag in your hand, hold it over the valve, and with the key on, use a small screw driver and push the pin in-the rag will keep you from getting sprayed, if all is alright, but if you get little or nothing, you have a problem with your fuel pump, filter, fuel regulator or you may have a plugged 'sock' at the bottom of the tank.

Defrost and heat does not get hot on 2001 nissan quest, fan blows but is cold air.

It sounds like one of two things could be causing your concern. One... your coolant level is low and not circulating through the heater core which could possibly have air trapped in it. Two.. your mix door may not be operating properly. Sounds like the second one to me.

Check your overflow tank to see if it has coolant in it. This vehicle has rear air meaning coolant has to travel to the rear to heat the compartment. Air will have to be purged from the coolant system. WIth the engine cold remove the radiator cap and check the level in the radiator. If there is no coolant present there is a possibility that you have a leak somewhere in the system and it will need to be pressure checked.

Whether you have AUTO or MANUAL air the mix door has a motor mounted on it. If that motor does not work you will experience the concern that you have. Turn the knob (on manual models) from hot to cool to hot and listen for air sound change. On AUTO models change the temperature from 90 to 60 to 90 (make sure you are in manual mode so the mode doors don't change). There is a slight restriction on heat because the air has to travel through the heater core
