Question about 1993 Ford Crown Victoria

1 Answer

I replaced the passenger side front door regulator and the window still wont move. It seems to be dragging in the track. I can move the motor and it seems fine and i can move the window manually and see the regulator is working fine too. Why does the window get jammed? The motor spins but wont move the window. The cables are in tact as well. Any suggestions?

If you take the motor off, you will see a metal cover behind the gear, inside that cover is some plastic gears that have rubber insulators. Most likely those insulators are broken up and when you put a load on the motor such as working the window, the insulators allow the two gears to disengage. Look on ebay for ford window motor repair kit.

Window wont go up and down

What you will need is a replacement Window Regulator. You should be able to find one online for around $50.00. Make sure you Order the correct one. Drivers Side Front..... Passenger Side Rear... Each would be different. Removing the inner door panel. Check for videos on Youtube for your model and year to watch step by step instructions. On a scale of 1 to 5 this would be 3 to replace. Removing the regulator and getting the new one into place can be tricky. Just take your time and pay attention to how you remove the old one and what bolts and screws go where.

more than likely one of the switches are bad (down side of switch works but up side of switch dont) being as the switches are wired together if one goes bad other one won't work either take the switch out one of back doors should be same as front passenger door put rear switch in front passenger door if works then u know front door switch is bad if it doesn't then drivers door switch is bad
u replaced window regulator Did that come with motor too??? if not check to see if motor is good
there is two wires going to motor cut isolation back on wires and using some jumper wires attach one wire to positive terminal of a 12 volt battery attach other wire to negative terminal of battery window should move up or down reverse connections and window should move other way

The driver and passenger side windows are either off the track or the motor is defected.

You will need to remove the door panels and take a look inside to see if the window regulator is broken, the most common reason for a glass to be off track is the regulator and aslo window not moving, once inside you will see and can test for power at the motor too see if the motor is bad.

My passenger window is stuck up and my 2 back windows fall down and wont roll up

The regulators need replaced in the back ones the front one could be a window motor or a bad switch. Unplug the window motors and hook them up directly to a battery supply of 12 volt power and see if they go up and down. If the motor runs and the track doesnt the cable is broken. If the front window motor doesnt move replace the regulator and motor assembly

Trying to replace a power window motor on an 03 maxima but can't get motor assembly out from behind door and now window is off track as well. Need to know how to get window back in track. Do I need to...

The window need to be lowered to get to bolts that hold it to regulator, then pull glass all the way up and wedge it there, next is to remove all the bolts securing the regulator to door, now work regulator out and replace the motor, with regulator out remove the wedge tilt glass until you are able to get it on the front and rear track ,on track now pull window back up and wedge it.install regulator and bolt it up to door, move regulator with switch to line up bolts to attach glass, now lower glass onto regulator arms and tighten, hope this helps.

My passenger side window stops and wont go up all the way. i replaced motor & regulator

This could possibly be a regulator track problem, especially if it has been in a bind or forced. Remove the door panel and also make sure there is no wiring in the way from the door switches
