Transmission. Check fluid level using proper checking procedure, which is usually get to operating temperature (take it for a short drive), park it in neutral idling, parking brake on. Fluid should be at correct level, and red in color. Anything else, have a transmission flush and fill, do the filter as well, just to be safe. It's a good place to start. And hopefully you don;t have bigger problems. Hope this helps.

1995 Monte Carlo. Has a very loud rattling/whining noise when I give it gas, sometimes even while idleing

A damaged or defective HARMONIC BALANCER is a likely culprit, especially if you have recently had engine work done.

I have a humming noise while driving my 2003 monte carlo ss

Most likely a wheel bearing, Take it for a drive, When you hear the noise move the steering wheel slightly right then left and listen for a pitch change in the whine, What ever way the pitch changes, Say you turn left and it changes? Its the left bearing and same for the right.

Did a fluid change and treatment on a 2003 monte carlo

Are you serious? Why would you even mention a heater core leak in regard to a transmission shift issue?

You need to know what items determine shift stratagy to solve this.

eg: TPS Sensor, Various Trans Sensors and Solenoids Etc.

Hard shifting from 1st to 2nd

I have been hearing a possible solution for this problem is changing the oil filter in the trans oil pan. But ive been looking all over for a solutionand thats the only legit one ive found. It said when the oil gets clogged it doesnt flow to the transmission as nicely as normal therefore leading to lagging changes
