Question about 2008 Nissan Sentra

Engine clacking while accelerating, starts off slower and further apart then with acceleration it gets closer together and not as noisey. When idle the car kinda shakes a little bit but not all of the time. During de-acceleration the noise doesn't happen...please help

The check engine light came on a few weeks ago and we took it to get it checked, they told us that the spark plugs would probably need changed soon and that it was still fine to drive, the oil could be changed on it also. Should I just get the oil changed and then go from there?

Well you might be talking about a cam shaft noise or a crank-shaft noise. How does the oil look?
Is it over-due for an oil change?
What else can you tell me about the cars symptoms?

Absolutely, have the oil and filter changed. Always look to have it changed at 3k miles. You can change it a little sooner then 3k but don't wait, if you can, if it starts to go passed 3k.
How are you with the cars maintenance? How many miles are on the engine? Do you see anything on the other side the the oil fill cap (like sludge or foam)? Do you see anything weird on the dip-stick ( like water droplets, sludge, or foam)?

Drain all the oil and drive around the block a number of times each day - if this doesnt fix replace the engine oil with good ole cooking oil - works wonders - maybe even add some fries to the engine for a good double effect

Why would clacking still exist after lifters have been changed. Also, oil seems to vanish periodically. Is the loss of oil related to the clacking?

If this engine has hydraulic lifters and no lash adjustment available, you may have one or more cracks in the lifter bores causing the lifter to bleed down and take longer to pressurize back up.If not leaking oil, it has to be burning it. Possibly through worn valve guides/seals in the cylinder head.

Heard a constant "clack, clack, clack, clack" then didnt want to accelerate. Died & now wont start. Any ideas??

Check the oil. nothing on the dipstick? happens on these 3.4 engines. Also could have way to much brown oil, intake gasket blown. Clacking is the rod bearings. Replace the engine.

ENGINE HESITATES WHILE ACCELERATION

LOSS OF ACCELERATION

It can be fuel pressure issue or it's the problem with accelerator pedal or its clogged filters causing there.

There are many other possibilities. I suggest you to go through the list of help links mentioned below, these will help you to confirm where the actual fault lies: -------

Cavalier popping sound

If you are in neutral or park and its popping then either you have engine mechanical problems like a hydraulic lifter not properly lubricated or a main bearing going bad. But if accelerating and it pops only, then it sounds like a bad constant velocity knuckle going bad. More details!!!

Theres a strange noise coming from my 99 millenia's motor but seems when i accelerate it the noise goes away but wen idle the cars just clack clack clack even when driving it makes the noise unless you are...

It sounds like you have a valve or rocker issue, I would run an engine cleaner through the engine. I suggest draining 1 quart of oil, pour in the cleaner and run engine for 5 min. Let engine cool and drain the oil. Pretty much another oil change. This will hopefully clean a sticking valve if this is the issue. But I also would check for anything hitting the pulley's or fans that may have came loose. I've seen this a lot. Good Luck. It may take 2 cleanings for the engine, so don't get disappointed.
