Check the TPS on the throttle body. It can have an open circuit causing this to happen

I seem to recall a friend had this problem , sounds like the transmission, or it might be the linkage if you are lucky.

NO accelleration on hills

disconnect your air mass sensor then drive to see if the problem went away. this sensor tells the computer when the air filter is bad. a bad air mass sensor will change the computer setting and make your car loose power.

I have recently purchased a 2012 yukon with a 5.3 engine (495 Miles). It feels like the throttle has about a 1/2-1" movement in the accellerator pedal before the engine responds. I have an appointment

Even though you are pushing a pedal with your foot. most of these vehicles are all electronic. In other words you are not pushing or moving a cable like in an older vehicle. It more than likely has sensor on the pedal, which in turns sends a signal to the throttle body. I have an 04 Suburban that feels much like you described & it is all electronic.

2006 cobalt 54000 miles I had trouble starting and when it did the check engine light is blinking and it sputters bad even worse when I push the gas pedal

DID YOU REPLACE AIR FILTER AT 25000 MILES FUEL SYSTEM NEED SERVICED AT 25000 MILES ALSO PROBLEM COULD BE STOPPED UP FUEL FILTER OR FAULTY ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR OR WATER IN GAS CAUSE ENGINE RUN ROUGH. .HAVE VECHICLE SCANNED FIRST. BEFORE BUYING NEW PARTS. HAVE FUEL SYSTEM SERVICE CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS ALSO.

The warning message appears and the car stalls. So far I have been able to restart after about a minute or so.

The electronic throttle control uses a accellerator pedal position sensor to feed pedal position to the onboard computer. This sensor is built into the gas pedal and is serviced as a complete assembly.
The system is "fly by wire" and has no mechanical linkages or cable.
I suspect the APP Sensor is failing.
Good luck

Engine sputtered, then died. Towed home. I

Might be fuel pump, or filter is pluged up, best to chg. filter and then do a fuel pressure test.
