It may be more of a design flaw oppose to a actual problem. However, you can purchase signal booster that simply plug between the radio and the cars antenna.

I have a 04 jetta tdi, i am getting a noise from the engine between 1800 and 2500 rpm's. i can also feel it in the steering wheel, i am getting poor fuel mileage. any help would be great

check your fluids and hoses always
also vw has fuses in the engine that over time wear out and can be noisy in odd ways just before they malfunction
it only costs cents for the fuses but they have to take apart your car to put them in so be prepared to pay for at least 5 hours of labor

I've got a 2003 volkswagen golf gls with monsoon system, radio isn't coming in good and reads CD's when it feels like it... but hardly never I've just stopped trying! tapes play fine though.. however i...

Your Volkswagen has a known problem with the radio - many people have a similar issue. There is a problem is the antenna base, which corrodes due to weather exposure, and leads to poor/intermittent radio reception. The solution is replacement of the antenna base - a job that can be done by home mechanics (the parts cost under $20), or by a mechanic.

However, the fact that you are also having problems with the CD might hint a larger problems with your stereo system. Have you tried different CDs in the deck? Try with a few different unscratched, store bought CDs (ie, not CD-Rs) and see if you can isolate the problem to the radio.

No am reception and poor fm reception - 2004 Kia Sedona

If the antenna is on the front, pop the hood, and locate where the antenna wire connects to the bottom of the antenna and make sure it is connected well. If everything checks out there, you will have to pull the radio from the dash, and look at the back of it. There will be a large black wire by itself connected to the radio. Push it in to make sure its connected as well. That could really be your only problem unless your radio happens to have a fault on the inside which is extremely rare. Hope that helps

2004 Jetta Radio

This is a common problem, mostly caused by corrosion to the circuitry underneath the antenna boot. You may need to replace the antenna itself. Pull off your antenna and check for corrosion. The cost is approx. $80 for the part. This is what the problem with my '04 jetta was and the tdiclub website has a good thread on the problem.
