I agree with roniecon. The crank sensor was bad on my Dodge minivan and it did the same thing you are experiencing. I took it to the garage and they hooked it up to their computer and it didn't show any codes. They let it run until it actually quit then it showed up on their computer.

im experiencing the smae problem I think, as I'm driving my vehicle it just dies I have to pull over and start it back up. I have had it looked at but of course no codes came up and then I was told that it was the filter so I had it changed out but its still doing it. then I got told that there may be something in the tank I just want to know are these some of the similar things that any of you have been toldin refrence to the thiis thread.

If a vehicle shuts off while driving down the road. then restarts after about 10 minutes, its a bad crank sensor or the wiring to the sensor. A check engine light may not turn on. If the light is on. You can take it to any auto parts store to have the code read by a scanner for free. Auto-zone, Advanced ETC. Its worth a try! But first check the fuel pump relay, It may be getting hot and shutting down pump. Try swapping a relay of the same type, if it is ok, thats the problem. Hope this helps!

Car cutting off

If you have no trouble lights and the car is displaying these kind of problems, why don't you return the car for repair ?

I would bring the car to a auto zone and have them but the car on the computer for a diagnostic check.

Also, if the car will not start after running, does it back fire or seem like its being choked out ?
Could be a fuel problem or restriction. ( FPR, Fuel Pump, Filter ect.

Have f350 04. About a month ago while driving in town, it cut out blew black smoke, pulled over to side of road waited a few minutes all was well. Now at any given time it will cut out, not idle up or die....

Could be a problem with your high pressure oil system that fires the injectors. As your oil heats up it gets thinner and less oil pressure is available to fire the injectors. Black smoke is a sign of over fueling. Is it chipped? If so remove the programmer and see if the problem goes away.

1983 Buick LeSabre Wagon, cuts out driving down the road

Find the EGR valve on the intake and locate the vacuum hose that is connected to it. Start the engine cold and as it warms up, pull the hose off and if it idles and drives fine, the EGR valve is bad and needs to be replaced. Please rate me on this answer.

My 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Will die going down the road. Sometimes it starts back up without me touching the key.other times I have to wait a few minutes before it will crank again.Any suggestions? Thank...

I've got to be reading this incorrectly...You are driving, the engine turns off...you pull off the road? And then without touching the key the engine re-starts, but you haven't touched the key? Or, sometimes you need to sit there for a few minutes and then turn the key to start it?
