Question about Chevrolet S 10

1 Answer

My reverse lights will no longer come on. The bulbs look good and I have changed out the switch on the side of the transmission and the lights. Are there any other switches to check?

Check your fuse and also check you have power to the switch if these are ok and you have power coming from the switch then you have a broken circut or wiring to the back where the reversing lights are. It maybe a connector.

Let me know if this helps, if you need more information just let me know.

Only right side reverse light does not work.

There is not any left or right reverse Light switch. It is only one switch for reversing light and it is fitted on the Transmission. If you do have the one working and the other not, first check the bulb if is ok,if not change it. If the bulbs are ok, check for any broken wiring.

My reverse lights are not working. I changed the bulbs already and they still dont work

If the fuses are all good, then you need to try shunting the 2 terminals on the reverse light switch screwed into the side of the transmission.

Are the back up (reverse lights) in series---where if one bulb is out neither side works---on a jeep cherokee?

no, they are 12 volt bulbs and require parallel wiring. If you have a manual transmission, check the reverse light switch on the transmission for continuity with the transmission in reverse. If you have an automatic, the reverse switch is integrated into the transmission range switch at the shift cable attach point. In either case, the wires at the switch are yellow/dark green stripe and brown/light green stripe.

No backup lights but blinkers work

Reverse switch is defective or the wire to it has come off (located on on standard transmission usually on the side but maybe on top, if automatic transmission it will be part of your prndl switch which is on the drivers side of the transmission).

Back up lights do not work on 2001 Saturn SL2. All other lights work fine.

If your bulbs and fuse are good, then you will need to check the switch located on the side of the transmission. It will have several wires coming out of it. This switch controls your reverse lights

No reverse lights on a scenic 1.4 2004

Check the bulbs to see if they're good (rare that both bulbs go at same time). If they're good, check to see if there's power to your sockets.
Under your car on the side of your transmission will be your reverse switch. It will have several wires coming out of it. Most likely the switch has died.

Back up lights on my eclipse dont work.

Are the bulbs good and is the fuse good? If they're both good, then the odds are the reverse switch has gone bad. The switch is located on the side of the transmission and will have several wires coming out of it

Reverse lights not working changed bulbs

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced
